Wow thanks for posting. How very sad.

I want to say that the last times I have been at the beach (not a surfer) I have noticed more dolphins.

Would love to have someone's take that goes tothe beach more often than I do.

Thanks for posting this. ;-)

The dolphin's intelligence, playfulness, and friendliness, its built-in smile

and merry-looking eyes have been a source of interest and enchantment.

This Spring I saw what appeared to be a porpoise party in Seacrest. The sun was setting on the right and the moon was rising on the left. It was all orange and pink and purple, kinda cloudy. The Gulf was real calm. There were lots and lots, probably 50-100 or so of them playing in smaller pods of 3to 5 or 6 or so. Sorry, didn't go get my camera but I didn't want to miss anything. It was so beautiful.

About two months ago as I was crossing the mid-bay -- I saw about 30 or so Dolphins heading East. It was most awesome!! Never seen that many at one time. It was hard to keep my eyes on the road!

I usually notice more during the cooler months but was watching several play close to the beach this past Saturday.

Maybe it's more of a problem in the Atlantic.
Speaking of the really unusual sighting.....

Did anyone else see the group of Manatees heading east 30 yards off the beach?

They are more closely related to elephants than to any other mammal
