As some of you may (or may not) know, Red Rocket and I are expecting our third child early November. We have decided to name her Lily, but can't really come up with a mddle name. Any suggestions?

What is your maiden name? I like when females take their mother's maiden name as it keeps it in the family as Mermaid said about the first name.

Lily Was Here - Candy Dulfer ;-)
This song!!! My mom bought me that CD when I started playing saxophone in middle school. Congrats Red and Mrs. Rocket! I think Lily Rose would be pretty, but maybe a bit too flowery.

I was thinking Lily Rose, too, and rejected it for the same reason! Allergies, you know...

Okay, let's make it a baby naming contest! Grand prize winner shall recieve a very offical looking certificate, a plate of fried chicken and the honor of giving my sweet baby girl a beautiful name to carry with her all of her life. So far I'm liking Lily Sophia, but Rocket's partial to Lily Baby Jesus and Lily Vanilly.Come on......... Lily Baby Jesus!!!

I like Lily ReneeMe too
Lilly Marie or Lilly Maria are nice too.
The key is picking one that goes nicely with Lilly...one that sings.....
You could just pick out a few and when she is born hold her in your arms and try all of them out on her and see which one works ...that is what I did with my children, they were both premies, so I really did not have one specific name picked out, I held them and picked the one that fit!
They just LOOKED like their name.Beach Fanatic
Lily Blythe
Blythe is the family name I always intended use. I like Lily with it.

I love family names....if you go back to the grandparents and make a list of about four names, I bet you'll find one that would work. Lily's a beautiful name.
This doesn't work for everyone. The male names we had to choose from were Eugene, Delance and Herschal. None of them even made the original list. . .much less the final cut!

I like Lily Blythe. It's unexpected and fresh sounding!
Another one I really like is Lily Christina (sounds VERY feminine, if you like that)

Lily is a beautiful name. Have you considered Liliana? It means "gracious Lily".

Lily is a beautiful name. What about Lily Elizabeth or Lily Beth. It has a nice southern ring to it.

I always wanted twins named Blythe and Bonnie...
At the end of the '80's-something John Hughes flick "She's Having a Baby," there is this wonderful list of baby names. I tried to find it on YouTube, but failed...

I would stick with a name derived from your own family.
Imagine when the kid grows up and says, "How did you choose my name?"
And you will say, "Well, sweetie, your first name is Lily because your daddy and I thought of you as a beautiful, pure flower...and your middle name came from a guy named Skunkape on a message board."

Check a few websites of top baby names- if you see your choice in the top 10 or 20, you can bet there will be quite a few duplicates when kids get to school. Kate's preschool class had 3 girls with the same first name, so they all had to go by their last initial.
Until we moved here, Will was one of 2 Wills in a school of 1300 kids, but if you looked at the top 10 names for 1992, there were LOTS of kids with those names.
