hmmmm......can't remember
Sharlene, with an S and it has caused me grief my entire life.
I didn't have a middle name either until I married then my maiden name became it, Martin. I hated that growing up because having your initials on things was a big deal and I only had 2.
I have to always spell my name especially at the drug store, as they always look for Sharlene with a C, even though I am spelling it the entire time.
One day, a fresh little chick, told me, "Well good grief, no wonder I can't find your prescription, you misspelled your name".
I love the people who INSIST upon calling me by my first name, Elizabeth, despite the fact that it has never been my given name. (I come from a long line of people who have a first initial rather than a middle one.) I'll tell them that I go by Leanne, and they will either look at me stupid (like I don't really know my name) or continue to call me Elizabeth. Now if someone persists after I correct them, I instruct them to only call me by my last name. Did F. Scott Fitzgerald ever have this problem?
Shelia Augusta, sounds regal to me and in honor of the month in which we bestowed upon you your middle name.
Thanks goodness my Dad, bless his heart, named me. My grandmothers were Nora Belle and Ellie and they were determined to name me
Ellie Belle. Yikes!!!!
I can top that: My mother's mother was Vera Bell, and my father's mother was Ila Belle. Dad said that they were going to name me Bell Belle and call me Ding Dong.

That would have been bad. The strange thing was for years my Mother's mother, we all thought her name truly was Ellie. Which was a fine name. However when she was in her 90's, she lived to be 102, she told us she thought it was time to confess to something. We were like oh my, what in the world.
Her real name was Ellendra and she thought it so bizarre a name she never told anyone that it was anything other than Ellie. I guess when one is born in 1897 an unusual name was a curse of sorts.

Darlene is my middle name, not my nickname
My maternal grandmother's name was Gladys Alabama...no lie. I loved her so much. Perhaps that explains my obsession with ALABAMA!!!!

That just may be the best name EVER!!

My first name is Sheila, my parents did not give me a middle name. I guess we were too poor to afford a middle name.My best friend in high school was Deborah Smith (back when "Debbie was a very common name -- don't know any kids in my daughter's generation named Debbie). How plain of a name is that? No middle name, and it wasn't due to money. They had old money (Ivy-Leaguers) and owned a large vacation home on Sea Island.![]()

I have an 80+ year old aunt in Italy and her first name is Alabama. We always wondered what inspired my Italian grandfather to name her that (I believe he was the one who chose the name).
