Amazing and yet what mom has time for this??
I'm fairly open minded and if moms want to do this, good for them. But I really don't want to share the sink in the public restroom with a toddler using it as a toilet. Mommy, just walk a few more steps and you have a big potty meant just for that purpose. I won't be standing over the potty trying to wash my hands.
Other than that, power to the mommies! Maybe they'll save the planet from all those pesky diapers that won't go away! I wonder if Sheryl Crowe is doing this.

I don't understand the questions of "what mom has time for this?" It seems to me that it takes more time to clean up a poopie diaper and change into a new one, than it would to hold the kid over a toilet when the baby has to go. When you stick diapers on the kid, you are teaching them to poop their pants, and then you spend more time retraining them to not poop in their pants after a year or two passes. Kids must think that parents are stupid.
I know a kid who was raised in South Africa, in a rural village on the coast, and that kid never wore anything other than tee-shirts until he was about 5 years old. They had 20-25 German Sheppards patrolling the property, and the kid learned to pee and poop with the dogs. His mom says that he never once pooped his pants (because he didn't have any pants), and he never had "accidents" in the house. Of course, when he came to visit his grandparents back in Memphis, they were a little more than disturbed that the kid didn't wear bottoms and that he peed in the yard. I told them to get over it. ;-)

For example, slap that diaper on someones windshield when the park 3 inches from you. It will not solve the problem but you can kick back and just wonder what happened after you left.

This would be a wonderful movement in nursing homes too. ;-)

Diapers were never so time consuming at my house. We were like a Nascar pitcrew, changed and done. But if you miss the communication signal and don't make it to the potty (or sink) you'll spend much more time cleaning up than if the baby has on a diaper. Nighttime potty issues mean lots more work and laundry than a single dirty diaper. Swaddled infants would mean complete wardrobe changes everytime they'd go, which is often.
Seems like moms have to pretty much be looking at the baby most of the time to catch their signal. Most moms, while they love their babies, have lots of other chores to do besides staring at the baby. You'd not be able to catch every signal if you ever cooked a meal, took a shower, answered a phone call, fed the dog, signed for a package, washed a load of laundry etc. You'd likely miss the signal and still have to clean the baby and now have to clean the mess off the floor as well. Unless you were lucky enough to have the baby outside with the dogs when you missed it.

I was buying the theory until they kept mentioning having the kid pee in the sink and yard!
Does this work with indoor plumbing or only in the "great outdoors" of your litterbox, er backyard?

I was thinking the same thing... What happens if they live in the North, say like - North Dakota, or MN, and it's snows for months - do they teach the kid to write his name in the snow as well? Home schooling and potty training in a day! Woo-hoo!!!

There might be something to this. Despite our best efforts, it wasn't until my son saw his older cousin pee in the woods during the Hurricane Opal evacuation that he began to make efforts to not wet his diaper.
Only problem was, when he had to tinkle, he'd run out the front door and launch it off the porch instead of running down the hall to the potty.
(Hopefully he won't pick today to start visiting SoWal again....)

So do I. And I'm 44. Peeing outside is just "better."

If I had a dollar for every time a man chose to pee outside instead of using the restroom, I could buy most of the beachfront property in Sowal!

The manly pee-in-the-great-outdoors thing has always been fashionable at our house.
