What are some of your favorite old movies? You know the ones, the classics. They're the ones you can watch over and over again. I'll start.

Wow Minnie, we like the same movies, must be a Tennessee thang. No really, I was going to put down Imitation of Life and I LOVED Back Street, but I haven't seen Back Street in years. I also liked Peyton Place - watched it again a couple of years and I was surprised how risque it was. Somehow all that went right over my head back then----probably a good thing.

But I could watch Sleepless in Seattle weekly.

I am a movie fiend. I did not even add the current ones such as Sleepless, Sabrina, You've Got Mail, Raising Hellen, etc.

I am a sap for a chick flick. There were others but my list was getting really long, Wuthering Heights, National Velvet, Lassie.

I am glad Cheering started this because I am horrible to shop for and now I am going to give my list out and say buy me movies. :)

Can we just go ahead and say any/all Audrey Hepburn? I'll watch Roman Holiday 'til the cows come home...

It's a wonderful life

My friend Danny and I still quote this to each other at random, along with The Princess Bride. His wife thinks we're nuttier than squirrel poop and often threatens to drop dead just so I'll be stuck with him.

The other favorite old Christmas movies are The Bishop's Wife and The Bells of St. Mary's. (Not sure why they show that one at Christmas...)

Then there are all those great musicals. (Go ahead and make fun of me, but it's all Hop's family's fault):

Funny Face (Audrey again)
West Side Story
Meet Me in St. Louis
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
Annie Get Your Gun
Carousel
Oklahoma!
(yes, I really do like that movie!)
and Carousel

And to round off the list,
Harvey
Shenandoah
, and
National Velvet.

Yay...

Chinatown
Bonnie and Clyde
The Goonies
Johnny Dangerously (Farging Ice-holes!)
