Has anyone else checked this out?

I'm taking my camera this weekend and will try to take pics of as many of the Fleur-De-Lis as I can. I imagine it is just like when San Antonio and Chicago did the cattle, Panama City did the Dolphins, Eugene Oregon did the ducks etc etc etc.

I'll be in New Orleans from Thursday night to Monday night. Let the good times roll!

Anyone else going to be there? I'll be trying to hit every art gallery and museum there. I'm over the bar thing, might avoid Bourbon Street like the plague.

Yeah, whatever.

Two years ago we were headed to New Orleans when Katrina threatened. We cancelled our reservations and the family ended up coming to Panama.

Anything else new in New Orleans I need to be aware of? I've pretty much gone there 2-3 times a year over the last 23. Haven't been back for two years though. I cannot wait. I just want to sit, relax and watch that world roll by....:rolling:

My husband and I will be in NOLA next Friday, the 7th, stopping one night on our way down to Blue Mtn. We usually stay 2 nights but a side trip to Memphis on the way home is taking up time. Last year we stayed one night at the Monteleone (beautiful), one at the Place D'Armes (never again!)- this year trying the Royal Sonesta. Wish we could stay longer but the beach beckons.

As a fleur-de-lis side note: when we built our new house, we put several New Orelans elements in the design including black wrought iron on the patio and a fleur-de-lis pattern on the front door and on one back splash in the kitchen.

Hope your trip to NOLA is a good one- we look forward to our return!
