The naked truth: Three eastern Missouri men were willing to go to extreme lengths to get some beer. That's the accusation after an incident in the early hours of August 18th at Fish's Quick Stop in De Soto. Store clerk Vicky Gaines says a masked man walked in and began doing the hula dance. Police say the plan was for the naked dancer to create a distraction while another man took a case of beer from the store. It didn't work.

Gaines called police. As the naked man and his accomplice joined a third man in a car, a customer got their license plate number. All three were caught a few days later.

The men, ages 19 to 23, face charges of shoplifting and indecent exposure.

I tried the naked hula once before, but I didn't know that I was supposed to bring friends to steal beer!

I did make a ten dollar tip, though!

I'll have to say that on some Sundays when we can't buy adult beverages thanks to blue laws, I think about calling our friend who owns a liquor store. Of course, I wouldn't go to the extremes that hula guy did. :lol:

I always find it funny that there's always a liquor store right at the Florida state line, no matter how much in the boonies the place is. They always seem to have customers on Sunday.

We had to go to the next state for libations for a post-graduation toast due to Blue Laws! Hilarious that I didn't have to do it all during college.............just the day I graduated and my parents were there!

Reminds me of when we were at Tulane and the drinking age was 18 (actually the drinking age was "if you're tall enough to see over the bar, you're of drinking age"). :lol:

So I had been legally drinking for a while when we got married (too young -- I wouldn't advise it). Big D ordered a bottle of champagne at a restaurant on our honeymoon, and they wouldn't let me drink any because I wasn't 21. I mean, the waiters all kept spying on me to make sure I didn't have a sip of his. We even told them we were on our honeymoon -- it was obvious -- I had on my little trousseau clothes -- you'd think they would have given me a break. :idontno:
