EEEWWWW. I have a big reddish spider right outside my back door. I have asked Mr OL to kill it a few times. I don't know if he's just tearing down the web and the the spider rebuilds it or what but it is nasty and I am going to have to find the spray and end this once and for all. It's the kind that is like a bulb. :::shudder shudder:::

Gosh, my grandmother used to love to fish on that lake. She used to love when we came from Atlanta for a visit and took her there.

Part of this thing is practically in my backyard. Spiders everywhere!

:yikes:

We're headed to Seagrove on Saturday hopefully the spiders won't infest my home while we're gone.

My old stomping grounds (at least for a couple of weeks during summer vacation). My Mom was born in Canton, one of my great uncles lived in Terrell, another lived in Grand Saline, and Mom's siblings settled in Tyler.

Isn't it just amazing (and kind of icky)!

Until we moved out here to the lake, I didn't realize there were so many kinds of spiders! It is interesting to watch them all but it is also a full-time battle to keep the webs at bay. I am learning lots about peaceful co-existance. One thing that was recommended by the spider wrangler from the movie Arachnaphobia is spraying lemon Pledge where you don't want them to be because they hate citrus. So I am experimeting with a program of spraying our dooor jams outside with it- it isn't perfect but webs and spiders are much diminished!

small world! I grew up in Greenville, moved all over the country, then moved back to Greenville, and have settled in here. We love the Emerald Coast & one day plan on calling it home. We'll be out on Saturday for a week of "pure bliss at the beach". I won't know any of you guys but I'm sure I'll pass a few of you along the way.

Have a grayt week. It's really cloudy today, but nice not to have to put on sunscreen.

Spiders don't seem bad down here. But maybe my housekeepers are doing a good job of keeping down the webs. Right now I'm more concerned about a fin I see just past the sandbar. :yikes:

Let me grab my camera and walk down to the beach. I'm on the porch drinking coffee right now. The zoom on my little camera isn't that great.

I only have to vacuum up cobwebs every other day. DD, if you saw the web that's trapped between the window and the storm window right now, you would faint. (I know I almost did.) Yuck. But it's better than the wasp's nest that I found in the back bedroom window. Double yuck!

I like my spiders as long as they are outside and a long way away from me. We have a few really big ones with babies, in the trees on the lot next door.

No, I wouldn't...as much as I hate 'em, I have quite a few in my house right now...how does that happen? But, I plan on destroying them this weekend. I so love working all week and cleaning all weekend....it's my life's dream.
