Well, we are home from the beach. Left Inlet Beach around 10:15. Got in around 7:05 p.m.! Had great weather at the beach, saw only around 3 or 4 flies. The winds stayed out of the south pretty much and kept them away. However, we did see 4 sharks, 3 jellyfish, and a stingray near the Camp Helen Pier. And saw a sea turtle two days straight off of the Dan Russell Pier. Got one picture. And I had the pleasure Thursday of getting to eat lunch with Inlet Beach Dweller and Cork On The Ocean at Wild Olives in Rosemary Beach. Was a nice place. Had a good beefeater sandwich with fresh fruit. Had a great time. They are both very nice. Cork is a hoot. And Cork had her pooch Sunshine with her. She was so sweet. A really good dog. Anyway, will give a full trip report later on, including pix. Got much to do. Unpack clothes tonight, wash clothes tomorrow. Later everyone.

Johnrudy, we had a great trip, at the beach that is. Our lodging in Mobile was a different matter but I won't go into that yet. Had fun checking out Mobile and Dauphin Island though. But will save the details for when I give my trip report.

Johnrudy, we had a great trip, at the beach that is. Our lodging in Mobile was a different matter but I won't go into that yet. Had fun checking out Mobile and Dauphin Island though. But will save the details for when I give my trip report.

My brother & his family live in Mobile. They like it, I guess. I wouldn't want to live there tho.

Skunky, I'll spill the beans later this afternoon or this evening. I have alot to do this morning. I am sorry about the Vols also but it was what I expected, but I think they played a good game to get 31 points on California but their defense is a little lacking.

I don't know much about it but I do know that much from hearin' Hubbabubba during the game. ;-) Cal State did have a lot of team spirit too, didn't they?

Did ya'll hear Coach Fulmer just donated $1 million to UT. Now that's giving back, ain't it? :clap:

Yeah, they kind of had trouble containing that runningback. And others also. I hope that player of theirs that couldn't feel his legs is ok. Don't even know who he was.

That was giving back, I hadn't heard about that. Oh yeah, remind me to never go up in a battleship again climbing level after level to get to the upper deck after drinking something carbonated. The higher I climbed, the tighter my chest got. I was pushing all the acid up in my chest. Didn't feel well for a few days after that.

Give her a pet for me. Maybe next time we are down I can meet some more people. I recall I thought Skunky mentioning Wild Olives one time. Was hoping I could meet him and Rapunzel also. Husband said if possible we might try to come back down in June. Hope we can.

No IBD, we never got to Triple J's unfortunately. Were going to get the blackened steak salad with crumbled blue cheese from Spicy Noodle but they were out of steak, and this at lunchtime. So we got nothing from either place. Maybe next time. Did have many enjoyable walks on the beach and many nights of deck sitting after dark. Have posted some pictures on the photo gallery. Will have more when I get the other developed. Will have some I have to scan.

Thanks DD. You can take the Mobile Ferry across to Ft. Morgan and back, it boards at the end of Dauphin Island. We were going to do that but there is a 1 1/2 to 3 hr. wait to board it. And once you are in line, you are stuck there parked. The bird sanctuary is nice. No charge. Tried scanning some of my developed photos and they streak at the top for some weird reason. It was just a boardwalk all the way through the place mostly, a few spots of sand path, with posted signs of certain birds seen but we didn't see many. But the beach was pretty from there. I care more for the beach side of things myself really, but it was nice through there.

Thanks seagrovelover, sure hated to leave down there though. Could easily stay two weeks. Still tired, so the trip report as boring as it will be will have to wait until tomorrow. Will have the house to myself as my husband has to work tomorrow, 12 hours.

Thanks IBD, I could kick myself for not having my husband drive farther south from Dauphin Island. 3 miles south of Dauphin Island is Sand Island Lighthouse out in the Mobile Bay. It takes a boat to get to but I may have been able to get a picture of it from the shore if it wasn't too far out by zooming in. But I don't know for sure if I could have. I had seen the sign advertising it down there but forgot about it. :bang:
