No more wishing for a day or so!! The vacation was so nice!!! Arrived on Friday to a beautiful night sky and reflections on the gulf. I hate to admit how lazy I was. I did not get up before 9 and drank a few cups of tea watching the crystal clear gulf then decided whether to eat, sit, or go to the beach. Read a lot....pics will be below. Granny was very well-behaved,:D and I enjoyed the time with her. Sweet daughter flew in on Sat. We stay in Seacrest and until Friday, we had the beach to ourselves. Once the people arrived, it looked like the tent cities of the depression:eek:  Some folks bring too much junk!!!

We dined too well...

Lots of fresh shrimp and scallops. Dinner at Red Bar was consistent as usual and the atmosphere light! I had my yummy scallops and shrimp with tasso grits at Blue Orleans. What a way with words Gator has....he made an elderly lady and a middle aged girl??? feel young!! Had brunch at Onano's....very good. Loved the quietness and simplicity of the place. Dinner at Smiling Fish and Summer Kitchen were excellent. My only disappointment was that I did not get to go to D&K's. After seeing the steps, I realized my mother could not make it up them:( But I got the seafood dip to go and loved it. Hopefully my next trip I will be able to enjoy their food.

My week was spent reading and resting. My daughter had knee surgery in May, so part of her therapy was to ride a bike each day. The bike paths are the best!!!

Needless to say the return to reality has not been grayt!!  However, I am so glad I got to have time in paradise.

Glad you had a grayt 9 days! Wow! We had planned at least a week, but hubby had a meeting Wednesday that was too important to miss.

We drove down Thursday and had a great dinner at Amor?. Their pizza is so excellent, as are the salads (Caesar for Big D, Caprese for me). Love the PBR buckets.

Friday we worked in the yard most of the day. Thought I was gonna have a heat stroke, but we're do-it-yourselfers and can't stand to pay someone a boatload of money to do something we can do with sweat equity. Had lunch at Taco Bar -- love the pollo with the grilled corn. Met the manager, Mike. Nice guy.

Came home and chilled out at the pool.

Did a double at Dave's establishments by having dinner at Bud & Alley's. We hadn't been in the main dining room since they redid the AC vents -- now you don't freeze to death in there. I had the tuna which was great; hubby had the steak which was just so-so. Service was really slow.

Saturday we watched the Gators, had a neighborhood association meeting, and watched more football. We decided to go to Shades for dinner so we could watch football and eat simultaneously. But it was slammed, as I've said on another thread. We went to Borago -- excellent food and service, as usual. And got to watch football, too! Doesn't get much better than that for us!

Sunday we did work work -- too humid and hot to go out and be comfortable. Had lunch at Red Bar -- their grilled fish sandwich is now my favorite. Music was grayt, too. They were slammed, but it was a really funn atmosphere.

Came back home and chilled in the pool.

Had dinner at Caf? Thirty-A with our relatively new neighbors. Really enjoyed getting to know them and their friends. Food was grayt, too. What else is new? I mean, in the dead of winter when the 30-A area is like a ghost town, that restaurant has a crowd.

Today we packed up and left. It's always a sad time, even if you're as blessed as we are to be there so often. Back to work at 8 AM tomorrow.

We have renters there the next two weekends. I think we'll be back at the end of the month.

I  being at the beach!
