Just between you and me, I think it might be AOL related. Try using another browser.
Oh, never mind.

I have AOL and mine is doing fine, you might need to dump Net files if you haven't tried that.

Temporary Internet files. Everytime you view anything on the Net the computer makes a copy of the URL (address) if you don't dump them(empty) it slows your performance.

I dump daily. Have great performance. :rolling:

Since you asked what they are I am going to guess you have not done this. If you are on AOL,
go to Settings.
Internet Web Options
over to the Right, under Related Settings click on Internet Explorer Settings
Then find Temporary Internet Files
Click on delete Files and Delete all offline content

Thanks...I think. I followed your instructions and then it knocked AOL off. Minnie...do you have trouble viewing anything on YouTube? Mine starts and stops and is very annoying.

Yep YouTube requires a very fast connection speed. I have to get it going, minimize it and let it load, which is very slow and then view it.

It drives my daughter crazy when she comes home from college, but hey if I was not footing all of her bills I could have DSL.

The other thing with AOL, is you need to make sure you keep the most current version of it. They are constantly upgrading and that does help.

Also you can download another browser to use, such as FoxFire and it will help with certain things.

Does anyone know how to do this on a Mac (or if it has to be done on a Mac?)

No--high speed internet. It took me so long to get internet service in the first place that I already knew to avoid America On Hold.

At home I also have high speed cable. Do you have a tool bar on top that has file, edit, view, favorites, tools, help? If so, go into tools, then internet options, and a block should come up. At the bottom click where is says clear history. you should also be able to clean out your cookies. that makes it go faster too.:D

Mine is file, edit, view, history, bookmarks, window, and help, but I found "clear history" under the history thing. History is cleared. (I never liked history, anyway.)

So, I did the cleansing thing yesterday and now my AOL mail is doing weird things. When I hit Read with the little mailbox, the spam page comes up?
