Awesome! Ave Maria was great. It is interesting hearing it in english...especially the words "War is the choice of the chosen that will not have to fight" How true is this???

I kinda am partial to this video: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQgriBtJkZg&NR=1"]YouTube - Bon Jovi e Pavarotti_Let It Rain[/ame] and Jon Bon Vovi

"I want to know who the men in the shadows are
I want to hear somebody asking them why
They can be counted on to tell us who our enemies are
But theyre never the ones to fight or to die"

I loved it, but kept thinking those South Carolina State Troopers were waiting offstage.

I would have to listen again....it's late I can't sleep and now I'm teary eyed once again. Barry White sends chills up my arms, Bono....has his own unique style, Queen....what a song to sing, James Brown cuts to the core.....Pavarotti is not only timeless he's priceless. His voice lullabied me to sleep easy tonight.

That is not the English translation of Schubert's Ave Maria.

I don't know the English translation, but I had the feeling that was the Bono-rized version of the song.

Boy, I sure loved Pavarotti --

He will be missed. My favorite was the Bono one. I think I have that CD somewhere and will go look for it.

I also think Andrea Bocelli is wonderful. He has a beautiful version of "The Prayer" with Celine Dion.

I just found this on Utube: Pavarotti, Bocelli and others with "All for Love" - When Pavarotti sang with others, he was so happy to let others shine: [nomedia]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xWP1RLdQss[/nomedia]

An aquaintance of mine wrote this about Pavrotti and I thought it was humorous enough to share...

"I had dinner with Mr. Pavarotti at the apartment of my friend, Michael, in Manhattan. I was just a teenager at the time (Michael was a classmate of mine from school). Of course, when you are a teenager what do you discuss with Luciano Pavorotti? We talked about food, movies, gossip. (He never once talked about opera unless it dealt with backstage gossip.) He was very funny, but underneath he seemed sad, contemplative.

Mr. Pavorotti ate so much that I thought Michael's mother was going to have to send for take-out. He also had a lusty appetite for women because he looked at Michael's married sister the way a German Shepard looks at a plate of raw meat."

God rest that glorious soul!
