PBS? I think that's where the documentary was first shown. I just realized I gave the wrong link the Kenneth Branagh one is here. I didn't know about the Liam Neeson one.

Don't beat yourself up. It is a LONG, LONG story, and if I hadn't just read the book I doubt that I would have just turned on PBS and watched it. The story is more like a miniseries--you have the initial voyage south, the breaking up of the ship, the ice camps, the escape to Elephant Island, the other escape to South Georgia Island, the crossing to the whaling camp, and the rescue of the crew.

I first heard the story from a friend of mine. He owns a furniture store, and I worked for him for a while when I first cranked up my business. It took him two solid days to tell me the whole story. (Yet it only took me a day or so to read the book. I have friends who are even more long-winded than I am.)

Loved Call of the Wild, one of my first books I asked for as a Christmas gift as a child.

Sometimes, I think I just dream stuff, then I wake up and think..."Maybe that was really on TV"...guess I should turn off the TV when I go to sleep. :roll:

Hollyhood Kimmi saw it.

I cannot wait to see this movie. It's such an amazing book!! Oprah said the movie did the book justice -- which is hard to do. I hope she is right. With 2 little kids, I imagine it will be a few weeks before I can get to the movie theater. . . and my husband wants to reread the book first.
