News reports last night, indicated that an evacuee recieving $2000 Debit Card, purchased a Designer Handbag. Purchase was made in ATL and for $800! The store knew that it was a donation, but said that they couldn't legally prevent it. Hmm... seems to me, that someone has some splaining to do! Both in the donors(IF FOOD STAMPS CAN PREVENT SPECIFIC ITEMS, SO CAN THEY!), as well as the ***** MAKING THE PURCHASE! People like this, cause alot of us to be leary of donating!!:nono1: :nono1: :nono1: :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

But the post regarding this purchase states that the handbag was bought in Atlanta. Do you think the person bought a plane ticket to Atlanta with the rest of the money?
Not sure. I do know that in a few of my local Red Cross shelters, there were some people that said they were evacuees bussed in from the Astrodome. That might explain it? I know nothink.

I asked the other day if this was an urban legend....I also stated I had not seen it on TV or read it in my local paper. This is right up the alley for many news outlets....I can't believe that if true, it wouldn't have been seen or read by more than one person. And also...it was FEMA, not RED CROSS giving out the debit cards!!!!!

Some were evacuated to ATL., that was in the news, also. I'll go back and locate these items in the news, to save all the speculation! I heard it, myself...pinky promise! ;-)

Something is not adding up, and if it was reported on Fox or NBC or any other major station, they would have in chronicled on their website, right?

The only stories I could find of heinous fraud are similar to the unsubstantiated stories from this website, which is KKK thinly disguised as Republicans:

People need help. Even those that would take advantage.
