GCCC 50th Anniversary

We had a big celebration for Gulf Coast Community College's 50th Anniversary today. Each of the graduating Culinary students (there are seven of us) were asked to make a cake that was either GCCC-themed or military-themed.

This was right before completion. I added a teeny American flag to the top and some gold leaf to the stars.

And here's the whole crew after the reception. I know I look angry, but I wasn't. I just manage to make the weirdest faces in photos.

Also, two TV stations were covering the event, and each interviewed a different student. If you watch WMBB's evening news, you'll see my friend Mollie, and if you happen to be on Channel 7, you get to see your very own PV acting like a doofus on television. So that's kind of exciting.

Mine was one of two cakes that didn't have any leftovers after the party. I had to fight to save a piece for my instructor. (Since we were being graded on taste as well as presentation.)

I was hoping you would show a picture of your cake, after you told me about it. It sounds like it must have been really good!!!!! :clap:

Sometime in December. Not sure of the exact date of graduation, though.

Just watched Channel 7, and I was on for about three seconds. My friend got completely cut from WMBB's broadcast. :lol:

There's a reason we're in the kitchen... we don't interview well. :cool:

PV, I was there, and you guys did a terriffficc job. And, I'm told everything was tasty too. I just looked.
