Ok...Ready?
We get to Atlanta and hop in the rental car. Station wagon! Yuck! We get to Auburn at about 11:30 PM on Thursday night. We get to Phead's, he's dealing with the GF so we peace out. We meet up with my friend who's still in school at Auburn and hit the bars. We go to Bodega, see some familiar faces, as the bartender's haven't changed and down some cocktails.
THEN...we get wind that Afroman is still performing next door at Skybar. Boom. Front row.
We were reminded of the "pick up rituals" of college boys and had a little funn with that. We were there until about 3:30AM. We then called Tiger Taxi (which is new, wasn't there when I was, but a total god send). My friend from CA was with me, so what do you do at 3:30AM on a Thurs? Krystals.
We wake up to Phead pretty early on Friday. Puddin' has given him a ham to cook for us, so this pretty much consumed the day for ole Phead. We watched the ham until 11:30 and then Phead got back from class. We hit Momma Goldberg's and showed Cindy some Momma's love.
We then decided to hit the traditional Auburn haunts.
We went down old/ new row, Phead's fraternity house and then downtown. We had lemonade at Toomer's, walked by Samford Hall, went to J&M bookstore and then a little shopping for gameday outfits. We did get caught in the rain, so went back to check on the ham. We took the ham out and took a breather.
Then hit the liquor store and Wal Mart for gameday supplies. PHead hit the frat house for a minute, and then we went to dinner. Had to take Cindy for BBQ.
Well, we were a little full for dinner, so we went for some low key cocktails at my friend's place, then hit Bodega again. Played some Wii.
Then around 12AM, the night went to the next level. PHead picked us up and took us to his frat band party.
We were on our BEST behavior, but apparently a little too overserved. So when we went dancing towards Phead with our drinks over our head, he decided it was time to go.
Next- KA house, front row, Velcro Pygmies. Still got it.
Gus asked if we were going to apply to be house mothers.:roll:
The tops of my shins are bruised from being slammed against the stage. Classic.
We BARELY get up for the game and are greeted by Gfunn who's there to pick us up. We pull it together (somehow) and head to the tailgate. We drop by, everyone is still sleeping, so we head to get tickets. Cindy and I are dying, btw.
We get tickets for about $20 and head in.
Hotdogs for breakfast, and a little bourbon drink around 11AM. Just sipped through the game. Camera dies. Of course, we lost, but it was good to get back to see a game and be around my "people".
Post game tailgate/ catfish fry goes down. Start watching the other games and drinkin some frosties. Cindy still dying. Watching games, watching games, Cindy goes back with Gfunn for a nap.
10PM. Supper Club. Gfunn and Cindy jump back on the train.
Name is still on the shot bus.
and I got a BAD case of party arm.
Then Waffle House.
Funny thing, we didn't have a ride and Phead came swooping in for a little late night grub too. Perfect timing.
SOOOO that's that in a nut shell. It was such a great weekend. Couldn't have been better. Loss sucks, but it was such a minor oversight considering the CRAZY weekend. We rocked Auburn. And I have to say, I haven't lost it. Still got it.;-)
