Bob is partially right - it is another tool that *should* be used to take charge of a situation, instead of drawing your weapon. Drawing your gun is preparation to use deadly force; drawing your taser is not. Or, it isn't supposed to be. Overuse can kill, as can tagging someone with a heart condition.
Sure, the guy had no manners, but Kerry, or a moderator, should have stepped up and asked that questions be kept brief and limited to a maximum of two questions, as a courtesy to all who attended. That didn't happen. If it did, and the guy continued, only then, could I see reason for the cops to say that the student was out of line and need escorted out of the building, or asked to sit down and shut up, and show some respect. As Jack S stated, with six cops on top of the guy (and one with three stripes on the shoulder, was a BIG guy), they should have had the guy outside of the building long before any need or want to pull out some heavy voltage. I've been shocked by an electric fence, and if a stun gun or tazer is anywhere along that level or worse, that sh_t isn't something to be laughing about.

I agree that Kerry was never in any danger, but the guy was removed because he was a tool, not because he was asking the important questions no one else would. Based on various accounts of the event, the guy was frustrating the other attendees & questioners by hogging the limited question & answer time w/ his need for attention.
If it wasn't for this guy's past history of publicity stunts, I would be reacting more strongly, but more and more I feel he got exactly what he wanted - publicity, his 15 minutes, and a new video to show on his website.
[/b][/i]That is an Excellent thought!
I doubt this guy had any real interest in Kerry's answer. Self-promotion is higher on his to-do list.
Since he has proven that he is able to withstand pain for a few moments in the limelight, maybe Johnny Knoxville will hire him.
