OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- Florida coach Urban Meyer was right to be worried about his young Gators' first road trip.

Despite Tebow's big numbers, it took a late Tony Joiner interception and a pair of time-consuming drives to put the pesky Rebels away in the defending national champions' first challenge of the season.

"I'm just anxious to get on the plane and get the hell out of here," Meyer said.

You should be on here celebrating your team!!!!! I'm a LSU, Vols, follower. But my biggest love is for Pro Ball....Dem  Saints gonna take em' down Monday night.....The Titans!

  Let's get her back on the board posting again!

Thanks to Kat, Savvy, LW, and Seacrestkristi, for your very kind words and even more so for actually missing me. It is a great thing to be missed and it tells you alot about those that miss you.

I have just had a lot to deal with this past week or so with my Mom and other family members due to do my Dad's passing. It seems to get better, then Wham you have a major setback.

Also we had tree limbs fall on my husband's boat and damage the motor, another very expensive car repair for one of our vehicles and my washing machine broke.:bang:

So I have been very busy and have been reading but truly did not feel like I had much to offer to the threads so I have kept quiet.

Even though I joined last December I only recently felt comfortable enough to join in. I think I might have stepped forward too soon and need to observe for a little longer.

But thanks again for the good thoughts, It means alot.

Thanks Lightworker for the big hug. Another major reason I have been away is this.

Every Fall that my daughter has been at Ole Miss, she is a senior, something tragic has happened to a student in the early weeks of school. It has happened again with the death of a 18 year old falling from a tree retrieving a football. 3 years ago it was the ATO house fire in which my daughter lost a very dear friend. She had been at the house the night of the fire with her friend Jordan and his girlfriend.

When something happens again it brings to the fore front the pain of that time and my heart grieves again for the parents. Meredith's friend who died in the ATO house fire was listed in the news accounts as an only child. Truth was he wasn't. His parents had lost another child prior to Jordan being born, to crib death. How does one survive such pain, I do not know. :(

This young man was from Texas and it was parent's weekend and is parents were there at Ole Miss when this happened. They told the press they were glad they were close. How horrible is it that there is gladness in being close when you lose your child. Even though when the ATO fire occurred, all the parent's said the worst nightmare was not being able to get there fast enough to know if their son was one of the missing or had survived. As many had called their parents on cell phones as they rushed from the burning building and lost contact after that.

I know this is all very sad and many would rather dwell on happiness and even football scores and such. But I could not celebrate the near win Ole Miss had over Florida, which would have ranked right up there with the other Florida upset Ole Miss pulled off the last time the Gators game to Oxford, when my heart is heavy with grief over this latest tragic lost of a young life.

Dr. Phil, once said, what is it that makes us grieve so intensely for the young, it is the loss of a lifetime of opportunities.

Maybe we survive by allowing ourselves to feel the pain, to honor its place and time, then allowing ourselves and that person to live on. I don't know either.

The Legend of the Cherokee Rose

In the latter half of 1838, Cherokee People who had not voluntarily moved west earlier were forced to leave their homes in the East.
The trail to the West was long and treacherous and many were dying along the way. The People's hearts were heavy with sadness and their tears mingled with the dust of the trail.
The Elders knew that the survival of the children depended upon the strength of the women. One evening around the campfire, the Elders called upon Heaven Dweller, ga lv la di e hi. They told Him of the People's suffering and tears. They were afraid the children would not survive to rebuild the Cherokee Nation.
Gal v la di e hi spoke to them, "To let you know how much I care, I will give you a sign. In the morning, tell the women to look back along the trail. Where their tears have fallen, I will cause to grow a plant that will have seven leaves for the seven clans of the Cherokee. Amidst the plant will be a delicate white rose with five petals. In the center of the blossom will be a pile of gold to remind the Cherokee of the white man's greed for the gold found on the Cherokee homeland. This plant will be sturdy and strong with stickers on all the stems. It will defy anything which tries to destroy it."
The next morning the Elders told the women to look back down the trail. A plant was growing fast and covering the trail where they had walked. As the women watched, blossoms formed and slowly opened. They forgot their sadness. Like the plant the women began to feel strong and beautiful. As the plant protected its blossoms, they knew they would have the courage and determination to protect their children

I wish I was at Disney World, but alas I am just deep in the trials of every day life. This week it was a broke washing machine.

I appreciate the concerns but truly I am doing ok, just adjusting to life without my Dad  , and adjusting to life with my Mom, without my Dad. And believe me the latter is the hardest.:bang:

But 23 years ago right this moment, on a Wednesday night my daughter had just been born, so today is a good memory day for me.
