(In response to the 'other' thread)
1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.
2. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.
3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens are
more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands
of Iran or Chinese and North Korean communists.
4. You have to believe that there was no art before federal funding.
5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by
cyclical changes in the earth's climate and more affected by
soccer moms driving SUV's.
6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial, but being homosexual is natural.
7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.
8. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach 4th-graders
how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.
9. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually
doing something to earn it.
10. You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of his own money
to make "The Passion of the Christ" for financial gain only.
11. You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts of
the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports
certain parts of the Constitution.
12. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.
13. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more
important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Gen. Robert E. Lee, and Thomas Edison.
14. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.
15. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked
anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge.
16. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag queens and
transvestites should be constitutionally protected, and manger
scenes at Christmas should be illegal.

Bob,
I stand by my list. Who's more important to learn about?

Bob,My father's father and wife are buried on the Lee/Custis land in Arlington National. My family is from Northern Virginia. My wife's family is from northeastern Tennessee, which was divided by The War Between The States. Standing on his property, looking down the mall past the Potomac, I cannot understand Lee not seeing the big picture. There is no honor in a bad cause. Jefferson acknowledged the use of slaves to be wrong. I'm saying don't put these folks on too high a pedestal. I believe Jefferson, Lee, and Edison have all gotten their due in history class. I believe Sanger and Steinhem have "left" their mark too.

you have to believe... that the aforementioned list is not a worthy of your time to read.

Thanks jdarg for providing the classic example of a liberal argument. Don't address the issues, but attack and denigrate the messenger.

You are welcome! This list is getting tired- the usual apples and oranges comparisons (reproductive rights vs. capital punishment, gun control at home vs. global nuclear threat), and the assumption that anyone would really give a fig about Mel Gibson.;-)

CampCreekLou,
I went back and read your list. I have to say that I agree with many items on that list. I liked 1, 3, 5, 11, 12,14 and especially 9 and 16. I know sooo many people who think just like this. Thanks for posting it. I actually tried to find a list myself to post after the other one.

these lists are ridiculous, from left to right. although we can identify at least a little with one or the other. they are mostly ridiculous and truly limited. surely they are only meant to be funny, though they fall short.

(that's okay, I don't mind. really!)I can tell you I am a true lefty. These statements have been pulled right out of someone's really dumb ass. taxes and atm fees?
not one of these makes a bit of sense to me. and I don't think I know anyone who thinks like this. I hope not.again, I think they are suppose to be funny, but they aren't even good enough to be a joke! surely there are better lists out there making real points and funny too.
I think Rush could do a whole lot better.

No sweetie, I am not talking about you or anyone else that is on this board. I have friends back in LA that fit the bill on so many of these exact issues. These are the friends that will go and buy a $3.00 - $4.00 cup of cofffee at Starbucks but them complain about gas prices being so high and how much it costs to fill up their tanks.

well, I would pay just about anything for coffee at certain times but I am not offended by high gas prices - makes us more aware of our consumption, or at least some folks at least think about it. its a start.

Slavery was an acceptable institution in Jefferson and Lee's era;ironically, Jefferson's brilliance laid the groundwork for their emancipation. Now do a little research on when slave importation was made illegal in the United States and who was the President at that time? Hint:1807. And yes, Lee waged war against the United States, and without getting into the whole Civil War debate, it is intellectually dishonest to imply Robert E. Lee and a bunch of bourbon sippin' yahoos declared war on the US just for the hell of it. Really, you can do better than this;-)

Thats what I heard
It was a zoo, totally overwhelmed. We went to another eatery nearby that was shutting down early because "all the business is at the 331 funeral".
I did see a hippie peeing in the woods on the south fringe of the 331 parking lot which I am sure can be crafted into a left wing logic entry.;-)Beach LoverAuthor

Apples and oranges, maybe. But we're going for irony here. Don't you think it is at least a little bit ironic that the left advocates for the killing of the innocent and lenancy for the rapists and murderers? And that they want to disarm you but not Saddam\Iran\North Korea?

To answer the question would erroneously give validity to the flawed thought process that created it.
