Hi All...

Coming down Monday for an unexpected week of beach time :D ...I've read that there's a recipe out there that helps with biting flies. Experience has proven that Deet is useless against those buggers...any help with the recipe would be GREATLY appreciated! Our beach time is too important to spend it hopping out of our chairs, jumping around and slapping ourselves silly! Thanks!!!

seriously they will do away with the program if it's not supported by the public, but you can get one of those battery run little fans to help but it only covers a small area. most everyone on this board thinks too bad you should just wear a ski suit. sorry don't mean to be so sarcastic. hope you have a great vacation. oh and we do still spray at panama city beach, mexico bch and cape san blas not much farther away!!!!

The Courtyard Shop in Rosemary Beach has this fantastic natural spray that repels the buggers!

It really works. I tried some on myself and my son and neither of us had flies bite us. They would still land on us, but would immediately take back off.

And it smelled nice.

go figure.

It's really pretty simple. This time of year flip on the weather channel. If the wind is from the North stay off the beach (flies). If from other directions go to the beach (no flies). Also, this time of year it is often North in the AM, then Southeast in the PM, so the afternoons are better.
