NoHall in the Big Apple!!!

Here you go, RO: A report with pics!

We went to Canal Street, then up to Central Park (it rained; not many pics) then to the Apple Store. Big glass box on ground floor with glass stairs and elevator:It's right in front of FAO Schwarz:
I rode a wave board around the store, and the we played the big piano (of course!) until the store closed.
But then, when we went to Tiffany's, where I realized that I'd left my stuff from Canal Street at the big piano. I went back and cried until they let me in. (If you would like a detailed description of this award-winning piece of persuasion, it is available on request.)

We zipped on down to the Theater District for the heck of it to see where Blake was working. Saw my high school drama teacher and gave an actor my autograph.

Didn't make it to bed until 1 a.m., about 22 hours after I got up. Yikes.

We did not get up to go to the Today show. I'm not that crazy.

We slept a reasonable length of time and went Downtown, where I saw something unexpected:They plow in NYC?

We were going to take pictures with the bull, but these ladies were having too much funn.

Lunch, (a picnic on the sidewalk outside the theater)
and on to see SPRING AWAKENING. Holy cow. There were parts of the show that showed a little (lot) more than I cared to see, but the show was the most jam-up, jelly-tight thing I'd ever seen. Brilliantly done. We gave Blake an autographed picture, and he introduced me to the musical director. She's one of the only female musical directors on Broadway, and it was amazing to have a discussion with her about it. All of the cast and crew was wonderful; I'm glad Blake is in such a friendly, safe environment.

Dinner, and a walk to the library. We saw a lady on the way that needed to be photographed. Notice her bag; I've cropped it so that I don't get banned:

We went on home after that.

Sunday we had brunch with Blake at a cool little place called Fred's. ("Come! Sit! Stay!") Instead of pictures of human patrons inside, it had framed pics of patrons' dogs.

He took us to see his little apartment after that.

We wandered around the Museum of Natural History (it looked nothing like the movie) and then we went to see Spamalot.

Ice cream after that, and an encounter with the NYFD that left my heart on fire. Too overcome to take pictures. I thought Miquel would have to drag me home. Where do they find those guys? Dang...

This took me forever to write. I need some airport food. Can't wait to see you all in 2 weeks!

That Big Apple report was the sheeet, NoHall! That's 'wench' for A+!!! ;-) Not only does NY have plows, they have signs tellin' 'em when to raise 'em. Grayt pix! Those women were havin' funn with the bull. Glad you let 'em be. Sounds and looks outa sight. Thanks for the report and field trip.

LOVED it! The play itself was superfunn, but the program notes were HYSTERICAL! I was hyperventilating and had a stomachache before the curtain even went up!

I'm the one with the white sunglasses in most of the pics.

The cute little willowy girl was my friend Miquel. I worked with her when she was in high school (she's 20 now) and she and I were both in a play with the red-haired kid.

The red-haired kid is Blake, who is the newest cast member in Spring Awakening. He's darling.

The other guy in the picture is Andy, who let us stay with him while we were there.
