I looked on the net...and there are many companies that you can mail it off with a gold kit...but I am not so sure about them...:scratch:I know this probably does not belong in the lounge...but I figure I have a better chance at a response. I have some old gold pieces that I want to sell for scrap gold...does any one know of a reputable company that buys gold jewlery?

Go in there, show them what you have and ask for an offer/quote. In my experience, what you are offered tends to be quite a bit less than what you expect it to be worth. Sometimes you're just as well off to eBay the stuff.I looked on the net...and there are many companies that you can mail it off with a gold kit...but I am not so sure about them...

Gold!
Well the thread title got my attention anyway. FFF's relatives are in the jewelry business, I will call them tomorrow and see what they say, will call you after. Is it scrap jewelry or what?

I don't know about jewelry, but don't sell any coins (if you have any) without finding out what they are worth.

You need to check out Coin & Bullion Reserve in Panama City, they have a very honest business and very knowledgeable about coins. Gold is going for around $750 an ounce give or take a few dollars. I'm sure they would buy any gold you have, give them a call.

Back then I bought a coin book to see if any of them were worth $$$ because of rarity...none were, but they were worth about 5$ a piece back then. They are in my safe deposit box right now.

You might want to try the "old school" thing and just check the phone book. Alot of metal recycling centers will also buy gold.

I know Joseph Arriga melts down "spare gold" for his clients and makes them jewelry from it.
If you just want $, that might not be what you need, but if you just have unworn/broken jewelry..........
