I hate to complain, as I know how things can go wrong in any business setting...but you know those FSU/NC State tix I had for sale? And sold?

Two separate envelopes of two each, mailed from the Santa Rosa Beach Post Office (hand-carried to the window for postage) at noon on Tuesday, to two different addresses in DeFuniak Springs, one being a post office box.

NEITHER one ever got there. :pissed::bang: I normally send tickets FedEx or UPS, but hail, these were only going to DeFuniak!!! $180 effin bucks in the wind. :cuss:

Waiting on a trip report from my brother as to whether anyone was sitting in my seats yesterday.

That does stink, sounds like our UPS situation. All our packages come to our house, opened. When I complained the local terminal manager said it sounded like someone before delivery was "shopping"..:bang:

Pretty bad when there is a term for opening someone's packages to see if you want to steal it. Obviously though I order boring stuff because it always comes; just opened and gone through. :idontno:

As of today, the tickets are still in the postal system...and everyone who planned to go got alternate seats (not hard to do, but they were trying to help me out. I'm calming down...but yeah. Even if I mail them in Santa Rosa Beach to Santa Rosa Beach, those jokers will have a tracking number.

Oh well....

Manager sounds rather blase about blatant theft at his/her company!!!

Exactly it was very frustrating. They basically ask, is the package inside damaged, if not, they don't care that my packages arrive open and gone through.

The worst; I got a Christmas Goodie Basket and the box was busted open and sitting on my carport when I got home and a squirrel was helping himself to my goodies.

That should be illegal.

I don't know if it's a felony since it's not "mail" but it's still theft!

I don't know what you mean. So, we get mad at insurance companies for telling us what treatments we do and don't need so why wouldn't we want politicians to design it in a national healthcare system.. Sorry tangent>>>

On another note, that is terrible SN as you would think they could get there in 3 days!!

In the end, insurance companies are liable. Do you have to fight tooth and nail? Yep, but you can hold them accountable. Is the government liable for royal screw-ups? Well, maybe Nole can work on getting the post office to refund the value of her tickets that they mishandled. Want to take a bet on how that ends?;-)

The tickets will probably show up in a year or so. Once, I mailed a package to myself in order to same me from lugging it around. The item was very important. I had never experienced a problem mailing things first class, so I did it this time. When I got to the destination where the item was to be mailed, there was no package. :bang: About one year had passed before I get a delivery notice for an attempted delivery. Not having ordered anything to be delivered, my curiosity was peeked, so I drove to the post office to collect my package that afternoon. The handwriting on the address label looked like my own, but I thought that was weird. I opened my the package, and in it was the item I had mailed about a year ago. I asked the USPS peeps what was up with that sh_t. They told me that the Post Office to where I had mailed it must have to try to find the proper addressee after holding it for one year, so they returned it to the return address. Crazy, I know. If it is important, send it guaranteed, or with a tracer. If it is valuable, insure it. If it is non-replaceable, deliver it yourself.

The Irish Virgin

In a tiny village on the Irish coast lived an old lady, a virgin
and very proud of it. Sensing that her final days were rapidly
approaching, and desiring to make sure everything was in proper order
when she died, she went to the town's undertaker (who also happened to
be the local postal clerk) to make the proper "final" arrangements. As
a last wish, she informed the undertaker that she wanted the following
inscription engraved on her tombstone:

"BORN A VIRGIN, LIVED AS A VIRGIN, DIED A VIRGIN"

Not long after, the old maid died peacefully. A few days after
the funeral, as the undertaker--postal clerk went to prepare the
tombstone that the lady had requested, it became quite apparent that the
tombstone that she had selected was much too small for the wording that
she had chosen. He thought long and hard about how he could fulfill the
old maid's final request, considering the very limited space available
on the small piece of stone. For days, he agonized over the dilemma.
But finally his experience as a postal worker allowed him to come up
with what he thought was the appropriate solution to the problem.

The virgin's tombstone was finally completed and duly engraved,
and it read as follows:

"RETURNED UNOPENED"
