Trash transfer station in SoWal

Would anyone besides me like to see a transfer station in SoWal for trash that Waste Management will not pick up curbside? The Mosquite Control facility has dumpsters where you can take "white goods" (appliances) and electronics, but nothing for old furniture, small amounts of construction debris from home repair projects, etc. The alternatives seem to be, unless I am missing something, load up that old couch (if you have a vehicle big enough) and drive it all the way to the landfill in DeFuniak, or to the one in Freeport. The Freeport landfill is private, so you have to pay.
Or you can drive around at midnight and dump your stuff in some unsuspecting contractor's dumpster, the state forest, a vacant lot, etc.
I believe trash pickup and the landfill are funded from local sales tax (someone is sure to correct me if I'm wrong here) so why can't some of that money be used for a transfer station? Sales tax revenue would have no impact on property tax, which is where the current budget squeeze is coming from.
Thoughts?

Defuniak is too far, and your basically risking your life driving 331 for something that might go to Goodwill etc.

I believe the landfill in Defuniak also charges per truck load.

For furniture in decent shape, you can contact Caring and Sharing or Habitat for Humanity resale store, and they will pick up.

Landfill in DeFuniak is free for your personal stuff if you are a county resident.
I'm talking about trash, not usable furniture. And small amounts of construction debris, like from a home improvement project. There is nowhere to get rid of that stuff south of the bay.
