I think it was about 5 or 6 inches at the Dargs. It was 10 inches in Pensacola/Gulf Breeze!

BDarg speculated that the dune lake outflows might pop open tonight.

...no, but the dargs do. I thought she said over 6 inches this afternoon. Mr. K flew in tonight. Says his plane was struck by lightning  and bounced all over the place. (dd, we would not have made it) I drove with oars to VPS to pick him up.

6 3/4 official total in the front yard

BTW- geeky Bdarg put the rain gauge outside the front door. Please, everyone comment on it when you come visit us.

"My what a nice rain gauge! Let's check it before we cross the threshold"...

I missed this thread, but we got hit by lightning too on our flight from Pensacola. Sounded like a huge bang.
Needed oars to get through Florosa on 98.

It rained all night as hard as any tropical storm at times, but without the wind. I hope Jdarg is above water.

Yup. Thankfully we aren't in a flood zone, but man is there a lot of water! All the dog trails through through the woods are small rivers though!

Wish I had bought those cool rain boots I saw last week!:bang:

Just looked at the rain gauge. 11 inches since yesterday morning. The frogs are deafening too!

It looks like its STILL raining down there (according to the weather.com maps)!!! Jeez, do y'all need to start building an ark? Wanted to ask about red tide (still crossing fingers and toes and hoping to arrive in seagrove Sunday), but you probably can't tell with all the rain, can you?

Possibly 18 inches in the past 24 hours at VPS.

The worst I can remember in my neck of the swamp was that spring storm a couple years back when we got about 30 inches in 48 hours.

We did have some wind last night at our place.

There is a very old, dead tree in the bay in front of our house. Often photographed, it is one of my family's landmarks. I have seen that tree every morning and every evening for all but eleven years of my life. My parents saw it for years before I was born. It's been through countless hurricanes, storm surges, and had near-misses from at least two waterspouts.

It fell over last night.
