What the heck is going on with the bomb tests today? It sounds like it's in my back yard and about to knock very large art off our walls. It's crazy. I wonder if this is just going to be today or over the next few days.... Couldn't they have given us a break regarding the weather?

Maybe they thought the thunder would make it less noticeable?

I am so used to it I dont even notice anymore. Unless it is another multi-million dollar MOAB.
EDITbut at least they stopped the jets flying over at 100ft.

Just wondering what affect that has on the Red Tide, does it make it worse.

Just wondering what affect that has on the Red Tide, does it make it worse. The bombs dropped on land at Eglin AFB should have no effect on the Red Tide. I didn't hear any bombs this morning. Were they dropped at sea? Maybe that is what is killing all the fish, and the AF releases chemicals into the air to make us cough, disguising their bomb testing as Red Tide.

I had wondered that, as I know nitrogen makes the Red Tide worse don't bombs contain nitrogen.

I know the land ones would have no affect, but if they are dropping bombs out in the gulf, then you have to wonder if it has an effect.
Especially since they probably don't drop bombs as often during the peak tourist times and the Red Tide seems to be most prevalent in non peak tourist times. Maybe there is a connection.
