A "Tour 30A" afternoon with Minnie

:clap:Just want to say thanks to Minnie for getting me away from the house on Sunday to give her a tour of 30A. We had a wonderful calm drive from one end of 30A to the other. I think she was giving me the tour....she pointed places out and said, "OH! That's _________!" She knows us all very well. This is one smart lady.

We had a very nice lunch at Wild Olives and of course it was so nice to sit outside, even in the wind. On the way back we snuck in the cafe for Key Lime Pie, as we are closed on Sunday. Sitting amongst the ghouls and spider webs I thought she must think we're nuts to turn a lovely restaurant into a haunted house.

On we went to Gulf Place to check out some condos and the safety of the complex. Ending, of course, at Amore's! What an afternoon!!! Isn't it funny that when on 30A you spend 10% driving, 30% talking, and about 60% in restaurants!

Happy Anniversary Minnie! Hope you and Michael have a safe trip home to Memphis and look forward to seeing you again this January!!!!

:welcome: BACK!

We had a wonderful time, even though we got off to a somewhat upsetting start. We had booked a condo and we checked in on Sat. about 4:30pm and got the key and when we opened the door, Surprise the owner was there.

Someone on staff had failed to put the unit down as booked and late on Friday afternoon when the owner called to see if the unit was booked, they told him No so he came down for the weekend.

So we ended up at the Courtyard by Marriot at Sandestin, which as hotels go, is nice, new and very clean with a good staff, but not what we had planned on doing.

Kat was gracious enough to give me the 30A tour with a local perspective and it was grayt fun, with a side stop to the cafe. Actually I loved the Halloween decor and would really recommend a trip to see it. I only wish we could have been here to experience it while they were open. The key lime pie was heavenly and I have sampled enough all the way to Key West to know a really good one and this was it.

The Key Lime pie at Kat's is worth a journey, even an 8 hour one.

Key Lime pie is my favorite dessert and every time we travel, I look for it. I have had some really good ones, especially in the Keys, but Kat's is hands above any I have ever sampled. Very tasty.

The decor for Halloween is spooktastic and I so wish we could have seen it at night. But Saturday after check in and the mix up with the room, we were just too stressed to do much but chill out at the hotel.

I will definitely be there for Mardi Gras though, beads, mask and all.

The tuna salad at Wild Olives was very tasty too.
