I bet Jelly Belly would say they encourage sampling. ;-)

My dad used to tell me the loose grapes were samples.
Sorry, if they aren't presented as samples then you are expected to pay for them...

I'm sure some will disagree, but I have to confess that I always taste one grape at my local grocery store before I buy...I'm picky when it comes to my grapes..absolutely detest sour grapes, and have on more than one occasion spent $7 or more on a bag that I ended up tossing. If there's a produce clerk nearby, I'll ask and they've never had a problem with it. I think Jelly Belly's are a different story - they are what they are.....once you've tasted one, it's going to taste the same each time you buy one. I'm sure the guy was probably satisfying a sweet tooth, and in that case he should have paid for his handful.

Just my humble two cents worth:cool:

Almost every trip to the store, we give our two-year-old and apple and he eats it in the buggy. Keeps him occupied. We tell them at the checkout and every single time, they have just given it to us. Of course, this is at Publix, so I guess therein lies the difference.

I don't disagree, but I'd like to know what kind of jelly beans run 10ea for 2 bucks even if they are sold by the pound. Jelly Bellys don't even cost that much. These must be huge!

On another note being the motorcycle guy I am...
The CEO of Jelly Belly is a big biker guy who belongs to a very exlusive MC club called The Hamsters. Check out this ride!

That value of 10 jellybeans for two bucks sounds like cop math when they bust a local dealer and say the drug's street value is in the millions......the jelly bellys are worth 400 bucks "on the street".

Only if they are "cut" with generic jelly beans.

Won't you get some disease if you eat unwashed fruit? Heck, I use antibacterial soap on my grapes when I get them home. Bananas, too. Unfortunately, not practical with cilantro and lettuce.:yikes:

I think the CEO of Albertsons should be cuffed and stuffed as well....$6.99 a pound for jellybeans ...that's highway robbery!

I try the grapes before I buy them too...I'll gladly return the grapes to the manager--but he'd have to wait a few hours.

Watch George Carlin's "You are all diseased" HBO video. He talks about America's germ phobia, and it's dead on.
