I call them lovebugs. I don't know if that is what you are talking about but everyone's windshields around here are a mess.

Yep, it's lovebug season, and those little guy's are having some fun. I always feel sorry for them though, 'cuz you know what they are doing right before they hit the windshield...I hope they get to enjoy it before they go and meet their maker!!!!

What a way to go! :floor: All I have to say is that the male had better be in the Juvenile (hip-hop artist) state of mind as in the song "Slow Motion" for it to be worth it for the female biting the dust (or should I say, windshield).

Any tip on the solution? I have just spent about an hour with Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover with very weak results. Won't the baking soda scratch the paint?

I would think any abrasive including bugs on your rag, will surely scratch that black show car.

Lovebugs got us good on the way home yesterday. Because our "new" car is just a used '96 pickup, we were free to bring it to one of those old fashioned abrasive, brush up-n-down drive thru car washes today. and Voila! No more lovin'.

I had forgotten about these little sob's until I drove to La. last week. :creepy: My truck and windshield were covered! Hate em! Went straight to the car wash.

Probably payback from your "lovebug" behavior in the dunes!!! I feel your pain...I had to pay $150.00 last year to get those things removed after a trip to Houston. Nasty to paint!!

I hear ya. I am anal about the car, I worked on it for a couple of hours yesterday. :bang: :bang: Said screw it! Called the dealer this morning and begged to get it done today. They knew all about those friggin bugs and agreed to work on it this morning. I didn't even ask them about the cost :idontno: Cheaper than a new paint job or the decrease in value having to explain all the etching on the front end.

Those love bugs don't tend to stick to your car as much if you can keep it under 60mph. I guess that is out of the question.

At least they blend in to your black car, unlike the white burb.:idontno:
