They're from Atlanta. We've been going to see Jennifer at the local bars throughout her career here. It's such a great thing to see their success.

Oh, really. Where do they play in the ATL? I hadn't heard of them, but the performance was great. I am getting tired of hip-hop and looking for an alternative. I like classical, but it puts me to sleep when I'm driving. Frankly, IMO except for a few blips on the screen (like Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album), nothing compares to the music of the late sixties and early seventies, in particular, Beatles, Stones, Led Zeppelin.

soul miners daughter songs "bodies" and "on the shoulder's of giants" are still 2 of my most favorite songs.

They don't play too much in Atlanta any longer...usually only when here on tour. Jennifer used to sing at several of the local bars, like Eddie's Attic. She was solo, then a part of Soul Miner's Daughter, then solo.....etc. Since Sugarland's success, they've/she's been back to Eddie's a few times, maybe get on their email list.

If you're looking for an alternative and country music is a possibility, also check out Little Big Town.

 them! Some of the first songs I loaded on my IPOD. When our bff's son was getting married they hadn't picked a first dance song. I suggested "Bring it on Home", awesome song. awesome first dance. Great group and so not cookie cutter music.

Me too! I'm not sure why, but I love them the way I used to love the Eagles back in the 80's (70's?).

Is it new music or remakes of their old music? I saw their performance earlier on the CMA's, but wasn't really paying attention. I just love that old country rock.

It's all new songs. The title track....Long Road Out of Eden is powerful. There are a couple of songs that I could do without, but it's pretty darn good...especially for a bunch of old guys....I cannot believe that Don Henley is 60!! :yikes:Seriously, though, take a listen....you have to get it at Wal-Mart.

Yea, I've seen them in person twice and they are awesome. BUT I didn't know Christian has a wife and kids! For some reason I thought he and Jennifer were a thang.

The Jennifer Nettles Band (post Soul Miner's Daughter and pre Sugarland) played in our very own Grayton Beach when the Indigo Wine Bar (the 2nd one) was open in Uptown Grayton - I think it was the summer of 2002?

I love Brooks & Dunn, but it was nice to see someone else win this year.

I've been listening to Sugarland and Little Big Town almost non stop for the past week not.

P.s. - Steeling1, I am in  with your 'tar.
