Just spoke to one of my customers and he said that a 21' Crocodile was found by the US Army swimming down the street. It is 21 FT long, 4,500 lbs, and estimated to be at least 80 years old.
Army Specialists said that he was looking to eat humans because he was too old to catch animals. This crocodile was killed by the army last Sunday at 3:00 pm, currently he is in the freezer at the Azur hotel. The contents of it's stomach will be analyzed this Friday at 2:30pm.
May be a hoax but this guy believed it. :idontno: I have some pictures but I have not figured out how to post pictures yet. Tried a few time but to no avail. :bang:

Wow.
This is sad and macabre but I was wondering if crocs would be eating dead humans, let alone live ones. And WetWilly, if you ever figure out how to post images, please let me know.

The story is a hoax, though the photos were of a real croc (in the Congo) that was 16 feet long in 2003.

Thanks for clearing this up. I knew someone on the board would know if this was real or hoax. I thought it might be a hoax since the area did not look like NOLA and people in the photo didn't look like americans to me. But the crocodile looked real and that is why I wasn't sure.
Sure is a big croc. Where is Steve Irwin (the croc hunter) and his baby boy  ....suprised that they are not in the picture too 😀

There are allligator stories in NO, however. I'm part of a 3-person task force at my liberal arts college (upstate NY), and we're trying to reach out to colleges and universities in NO (faculty and students affected, we're concerned esp about the historically black schools such as Xavier and Dillard). We've been in contact with people in NO, and one story we've been told is that the Dean of Admissions at Xavier came back to check on his house and found an alligator in the second floor of his house! I have no idea of the size, but certainly, any alligator in the second floor of my house would be too big!

Even if it was not a hoax, it would have had to escape from the zoo, and I doubt they have Salties in that big in the NOLA zoo.
The American Crocodile is found ranging from the FL Everglades south to the Upper Keys, and it grows up to about 12 feet in length. Weight of even a 12 footer would be no where near 4,500 lbs. Keep on dreaming.

Need to work on my reading comprehension. I missed the part where the croc weighs 4,500lbs.

Cil...look at first post. When are you moving?

Cil...look at first post. When are you moving?Yeah, what I was trying to get across is that I screwed up, I am pretty sure that I knew most crocs don't get that heavy--but maybe they occasionally do.
We hope to be on the road the third week of October. But we also hope to sell our house before then. The market here is glutted right now, but our location is a good one.

Maybe a 21' croc would help with looters.
