Anybody know a good brand to buy ?? I was thinking mine was too old because the ice wouldn't chop up and so I tried to stir it with a wooden spoon & apparently the blades weren't THAT dull because now I have pieces of wood in my kahlua colada  Maybe I just need a cabana boy ??????

I'm not convinced the blender is the issue. Reference: "The Princess Bride."

Maybe you need a cabana boy, (same as pool boy?), and/or a yardman, and/or au paire... (now edited).

I didn't see the Princess Bride but I'll agree it's not the blender's fault.

Better get rid of the smilie before Kurt returns :floor:

My kids would say you definetly need the Magic Bullet. They've seen the infomercial and they are convinced we need one!

If you guys are referring to the blender which I posted, that is probably fly guts and eyes that you see. I try to keep the frog population in check, and with the recent rains, I have been seeing an increase in their numbers. I make the Frog Juice for breakfast -- full of protein -- YUMMY!

Ya'll are sick

It kinda reminded me of the Coneheads (SNL) except in green :idontno:

...but it is a great blender. I have used my Hamilton Beach model 554-1 14 speed, for 17 years and it still works like a charm, making excellent smoothies every day. It is also great for pureeing soups.:D

My wedding present blender (a faithful Osterizer) met its demise on an over-ambitious load of Margaritas. It started steaming and hissing like crazy and smoking from its engine. I have to say it was pretty impressive.

So far I haven't burnt out its successor, a retro beehive stainless steel blender that looks like the kind Grandma had. It is--surprise, surprise!--also an Osterizer.

GB, I want the recipe for your Kahlua Colada! You can skip the wood bits, though.

So that would be Chemical X (Powerpuff Girls) in Murphy's Bug Juice??

Which, btw, rules and is yummy.

Actually the wood bits added to it, like a fine wine......just kidding, I actually had to put the thing though a strainer :bang: I don't have a good recipe yet, just miXed colada mix & kahlua, still pretty good but not like the place in Cabbage Key makes 'em.

Where's GB?? RO's returned from a night of (no doubt) debauchery, and she should be back online by now. Surely (stop calling me Shirley) they are done by now, it's been 14 minutes.

When's elebn clock? ;-)

Although I was not using a blender, I once made some peanut brittle with melted bits of a rubber scraper.

Also, I have smoked out a big Kitchen Aid mixer one time when making some bread dough.
