My mom and several neighbors have seen a yellow lab for a few weeks wandering around Camp Creek Lake and in Seabreeze subdivision. The dog has tags, but won't come close to anyone and spooks when cars go by. This morning, the poor thing had flies all over it. Anyone missing a pooch or know about this fellow?

Valerie,
Are you aware if anyone has called animal control, or any other service? Tell them to contact PAWS http://www.paws-shelter.com and they could probably, send someone out. At this point, he needs to be brought in for safety, food and water! If he has tags, they should be able to track down his family, easily. At least if he doesn't find his family, they could find him another loving family. I just hate to hear about poor missing/lost, pets!

Valerie,
I got to thinking, about something. Has anyone checked in the newspapers, for a "lost dog" ad? I'm like you BR, I went to bed, but couldn't sleep for thinking about, the poor little guy! I thought about the newspaper thing and decided to post this. No family, food, water(clean anyway) and scared to death! And for TWO WEEKS, It's hard to believe why someone hasn't informed PAWS, sooner. Maybe they have, I just hope and pray that the little thing is, OK! I know that if my pet was missing, the shelters would know me, well! Please keep us posted, Valerie!

Has anyone tried to get him/her, any food and water? I hope they will, if they haven't. If they contact PAWS it may still take awhile, before they can go out there. I'll check their site periodically for it, like I already am for another dog, that's missing. Poor babies!

I myself would put some food and water out nearby and walk away so the poor thing would come to it. I got up one morning a few weeks ago and went to the street to put something in my garbage and there was this poor little hungry chihuahua laying there on this lawn bag of mine out there and he had been through the garbage looking for something to eat. He was so weak he couldn't stand up. I went inside immediately and got some roast beef and bologna and a bowl of water and took it out to him. He ate every bite. I also put a warm vet sheet out there for him to lay on and called a animal rescue place to come get him and he was still there when I got home, all curled up sleeping on that sheet. I walked up there and talked to him and he wagged his tail a little. I went in and got him more food and he ate again. He was a good bit stronger. I got worried about him near dark and went out to check on him and he was standing in the street and cars coming both directions. One was a neighbor of mine two doors down. She kept the right lane blocked from cars and I went around behind him trying to get him to go back in my yard and he started whining and took off running down the street toward her house. She had seen the dog two places a few days before. It veered off into the other lane in the path of another car, she hurried down the street in the left lane and managed to get it to run off into her yard. I watched her walking down the street trying to get the dog and I haven't seen the poor thing since. And it got freezing cold that next day. I had called back the rescue place that afternoon and they said they would get the dog, but they worked until 11:00 p.m.! Well, I am sure the dog was no where to be found when they finally did surface. He was so sweet. But at least he had warm cover for a day and two meals and water.

This dog isn't around in one area enough so far to be able to track. It's a hit and miss. I don't believe animal control will come out without knowing where it is for sure. I took my pup for an early morning walk today to see if we could find the pooch. I had treats ready to try to encourage him to come to me. I forgot a leash, but will remember that next time.
I've also contacted the PCDF group I'm online with and they have members all over from PC to Niceville and beyond. Maybe something will come of that. I'll keep everyone posted.

I just got a response from my dog group and there was a car stolen from Collier County (is that Ft Meyers?) and abandoned in PC, not too far from 30A a few weeks ago. There was a 14 year old lab in the car. I called the police station on the e-mail, but they said call animal control.....so you know that will be tomorrow sometime. In the meantime, I would be a bit irritated if my dog and car were stolen and with the dog still missing, my local police dept didn't get information from a call about my dog.
So, for now, if any of you live in the Camp Creek area, please keep your eyes out for the dog and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. My number is 231-9999 if you happen to get the dog, you can call me.

Collier County Sheriff?s deputies are searching for a man who stole a woman?s car -- with her dog and purse inside -- in North Naples about 10:30 a.m. Friday.
The woman, Nicohle Mains, 20, of Bonita Springs, went into the 7-Eleven convenience store at 10795 U.S. 41 N. and left her 2006 black Kia Spectra running with her dog, a short-haired yellow Labrador retriever, and purse inside. A man who reportedly was hanging around the pay phone saw the unattended vehicle and climbed in through the window to steal the car, reports show.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s. He has blonde hair, stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green shirt and khaki pants, reports show.
Mains and her fianc?, who was there in a separate car, saw the suspect and confronted him, but the man got away. The fianc? followed the suspect into Naples Park, but lost sight of him around 97th Avenue North.
Deputies are actively searching for the suspect and the car, which has the Florida tag X842JN. If you have any information, call the Sheriff's Office at 793-9300.

Do they really think, that the dog has a tag on? If they saw the flies, it's hard to imagine, that they would miss a tag! I'm praying.......

I just spoke with Rose who was the stolen pup's mom and her description of shiloh isn't what my mom described. This pup is 3-4 maybe, a youngin'. So, we still have a frightened lab out there with tags. Keep your eyes open. It has been around for a few weeks, so hopefully someone will appeal to it and offer shelter until the family can be found.
I'm so sorry, Rose. I'm thinking Shiloh is curled up with a wonderful person who is treating her like the princess she is and the communication between you and whoever they have contacted just hasn't crossed yet.
I love HOPE.
