Was great to meet you, I had so much fun hanging out after trivia night... Good luck with the rest of your finals - Hope all the protein from the *Wing Feast* gives your brain a boost, keep all that information organized!

My daughter is flipped out over finals. They start on Monday. She got food poisoning that past Monday night and had to get IV fluids on Tuesday. College students get so stressed out over exams (I know that I did). They don't get enough sleep and don't eat right, and they get sick. One of my better students got so run down that he has pneumonia and has missed a week of class. How can he possibly catch up? I have offered to tutor him to get him caught up on the material he has missed. A lot of times students scam their profs, but my daughter and this particular student are legitimately sick. I feel sorry for them.

I remember at Tulane having 5 four-hour finals in a 5-day period. By the time I was getting ready for the fifth one, I was fried. One of my suitemates' fathers was an M.D. in Lake Charles, LA, and had given her some dex so she could stay awake to study. She gave me one. I ended up at the Tulane infirmary -- my heart rate got so crazy that I passed out (didn't know until many years later that I had a heart rhythm problem). Thankfully, they released me the next morning, and I was able to pull a good grade on the exam. After the exam I flew home. My parents didn't understand why when they picked me up at the Atlanta airport, I fell asleep in the car and slept for 24 hours.

Took my Math final today. It was open-book, so I feel prety good about it.

My Practical Exam final is going to spam two days (Friday and Saturday) but as a little bonus, I get to attend the Mesa Verde commissioning. I will be sure to take pictures.

Daughter finished hers Tuesday. She is relieved. I gave my last one this AM. Students are finished, but now I have to grade the darned things.

PV! PV! I can tell you this since you know Philippa and will feel glad for her~she told me her math final was her first one, and she got a 93.5 score! This from my math-challenged numerically befuddled daughter. Your graduation good luck has rubbed off on her!!!

Haha. I can just barely do math. During my exam today I swear I could feel my brain melting. Even with it being open-book, and that's saying something.

It's just a good thing that I am good at other stuff. 'Cause numbers just ain't my thing.

PV, that's exactly how Philippa is! She's allergic to math. She got a good grade because she was too stubborn to let the math lick her so early in the game. (Her brain is now melted, too. )
