This was a card a friend of mine sent me.

I was wondering how everybody else does there cards if at all. All the same, variety, personal messages or just signatures, do you have different mailing lists, etc.

We generally go with all the same cards, both sign, and then there is the seperate stack for his family that doesn't know or is waaaay to judgemental.

some get personal messages, some get photos, some just signatures...it's usually friends who get the personal messages especially if it's been awhile since we've seen one another....photos go to closest friends and family...in the past I have bought 2 different styles...everyone can't always groove on the humor...

This year, I bought three different ones. The problem is finding the time to write them, address them and get them in the mail.

I guess you missed the thread and my position on Xmas cards.

SGB, I find it sad you and your siggy other find it necessary to send separate cards to certain people. I wish people could just find it in their heart to take joy in the fact that you are happy even if they don't agree with the lifestyle.
My neighbors mother still introduces his sister's partner as her roommate even though they own a home and have been together for at least 14 years. Why his mother feels the need to do this is beyond me. It's obvious to everyone else and I think it belittles her daughter's relationship.

Wishing you both a peaceful holiday here!

We used to do two cards -- nice photo ones for people who cared to see a photo of the three of us and a generic one for everyone else. Used to do a newsletter for those whom I thought would care.

Now that our daughter is in college, I just send a generic card with a handwritten sentence or two to update those whom I think would be interested.

Oh, and the years that UF wins the SEC or goes to the national championship, I send out cards with an alligator wearing a Santa hat on the front. I found them at Neiman's one year and bought a boatload of them -- that was when the Gators were winning the SEC just about every year, so I anticipated needing a lot of those cards in the future. NOT THIS YEAR.:bang:

I send out a variety of cards and will "edit" the card based on the recipient, but it's for reasons of religion/age/personal taste - i.e. no merry xmas cards for jewish or hindu folks or racy jokes for Gma - not to conceal anything (though I have nothing to conceal, so it's not exactly the same issue).

IMO if people don't know about you and your life partner, they aren't close enough friends or relatives to rate a card.
