On tonight's agenda: Nothing. (This hasn't happened since at least early October.)
I'm committed to completing this task (that is, doing nothing), but it will require an old movie. Is it too soon to break out the big Christmas guns--"The Bells of St. Mary's," or "It's a Wonderful Life?" Or should I just pull out something not quite so Christmasy, like "Meet Me in St. Louis?" (That version--which I think is the original version--of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" always melts me. I can't stand to hear it sung MERRILY!)
Or should I accept that it's a tepid 63 degrees out there now that the sun has gone down, and put in something completely non-seasonal, like "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty?"
Or should I forget the movie and my commitment and practice the piano with an occasional SoWal break?

It's not too early for Christmas movies, just too warm for them. You need something like "Weekend at Bernies."

Oddly enough, I don't have EITHER of those movies here in the house.
I ended up pulling out an old copy of "Memphis Belle" that I taped off t.v. a long time ago. I have to learn to salute by Monday, and I'm still on a Harry Connick, Jr. kick. (He's terribly young in this movie, so I'm actually able to watch it without passing out. I have to hit pause on "South Pacific" every so often just to resume a normal heart rate.)
Remind me to never go to a movie with you, should the opportunity ever arise!;-)

Well, instead of watching the movie, google video "dirty santa," and watch those. I bet there are some good ones.

That movie is hilarious. Especially that scene where they're in the boat with Bernie and he keeps clunking his head. Thump! Thump!
NoHall, you have to see this movie.hmmmm......can't rememberAuthor

I've been headed that way for the last 45 minutes. Would the cool kids please go to bed so that I have no one to talk to?

Watching "Boys Town" tonight. There's a scene where a very young Mickey Rooney is boxing, and I'm always surprised by how buff that little runt is...

I don't think anyone equates Mickey Rooney with sexy anymore.

I never said "sexy." I said "buff." I'm used to seeing him as a pasty old man (even though "National Velvet" is another one of my favorite old movies), and didn't expect him to look like such an athlete.
Just to be clear: I'm not calling Mickey Rooney SEXY!
