L'il Pea #4's Christmas singalong was tonight, and here are two funny highlights:
They ended their program with "God Bless America," and I heard several of the kids sing, "from the mountains, to the fairies." A mom came up afterwards and said she heard her daughter sing "Jingle Bells" with this line--"bells on cocktails ring." :floor:

How do they know the difference between the Holy Ghost and a Quad Venti? :floor:

Oh and a Quad Venti is a large drink with 4 shots of espresso in it for those Starbucks illiterates out there.

I wonder if the Starbucks has impacted the church's offering income. Latte or collection plate...what to do, what to do...

:lol:I will do some research on this and get back. This particular church is in a pretty affluent part of town, so I'm guessing not.

More importantly, will they let you know when your order's ready in the middle of the service?

A member of our church donated and built "The Global Cafe" at our church. All profits go to missions. It's alot like Starbucks but prices are a little lower.

We were just talking about this b/c our children's offering has been down. Lots of kids drinking hot chocolate nowadays. At least it's still going to a mission.

If it's a franchise, I'm sure they would! My sister just started working at Starbucks. You know the ones in Target or the grocery stores are not owned by Starbucks? Apparently they don't necessarily follow the exact same recipes either. It is rumored they skimp on certain ingredients to save costs.

I never have cocktails without bells. Tragically, the word "cocktail" is probably in their tiny vocabularies, whereas I'm not even sure what a bobtail is. (Not specifically, anyway.)

What better way to keep the congregation awake? Fill up that communion tray with tiny shots of espresso...

It's a biblical cussword. You can say those. I dropped one on my little bat-turd cadets this afternoon. Told them they were acting like a bunch of jack@$$es. If Baby Jesus didn't mind having one at the manger, I can acknowledge their presence in my class, can't I?

Bells on bob tails ring, refers to a short tail on the horse, which has been bobbed.

Jingle Bells was actually written as a Thanksgiving song.
