Ipod Shuffle question!

I got a new shuffle for Christmas. I know it doesn't hold that many songs on it. Is there a way to only download some of the songs from your computer, not all? I am trying to make a running mix, so I only want fast songs on there! On my other ipod, I have too many songs that are too slow. I need technical help please!
Thanks!

Just choose to load manually not sync automatically. Will let you drag and drop the songs.

Thank you. I stayed up until 1:30 trying to figure out how to disconnect - my computer kept freezing up on iTunes and I was scared I might damage the ipod by unplugging! I can't wait to try it out tomorrow! I have 56 minutes of fast music and 4 minutes slow to cool down with!

Even easier, create a Playlist of running music on your regular iPod. Go to File, click on New Playlist, name it Running Mix, and drag and drop songs into it. You can even order them so that you have a good warm up pace in the beginning and a cool down at the end.

You can also check and un-check songs in your library.

Thank you! I had my daughter and her 12 year old friend show me how to drag and drop on my new running mix! I can't believe you can just drag and drop them in! I think I needed Ipod for dummies! Embarrassed to admit this but I have had an Ipod nano for 3 years and never read the directions, had my daughter download everything for me. I downloaded 18 songs last night, named my new playlist, dragged and dropped and voila! A running mix is born! Maybe I'll even tackle organizing the nano!

Yeah....just proved its never too late for any of us to learn something new.

Good luck with the running. My husband is a runner and loves running in sowal. He went every day while we were vacationing there this past summer.

One of these days, we will make a trip down there specifically for a race. I told him I wouldn't mind at all.

Miss Kitty and I both have Shuffles. They sit on our desks and we dust them. We are waiting for some kind soul to load them and plug them in to our ears.

In other words, we need personal Shuffle assistants.

Get out. I just gave mine a little dust blow-off. It's lonely and bored.

Steven did put some more songs on mine the other day. I wouldn't even know how to turn it on or where to put the headphone things.

step 1. go to iTunes
step 2. use credit card or iTunes card to purchase
step 3. pick out music - you can search, go to top 10, or look at what is on the main page.
step 4. click on the song you want -don't press buy until you have heard the 30 second preview
step 5. it will ask you do you want to buy, click yes
step 6. it will show downloading
step 7. plug in your ipod to a port in your computer
step 8. a screen comes up that shows your ipod as a source.

from here ask a teenager (ok, I did it at 1:30 in the morning!)
j/k! I'll tell you the rest when I actually plug mine in to see what I did!

Really, if I can do it, you can do it!

You have a teenager at your house! Does he have an ipod? If not, I could loan my teenager!;-)
