IBD, one of my son's birthday is April 1 which of course is April Fools Day

Poor little IBD, this day is also her birthday,
you know I should have realized what day it was when I was giving birth. The contractions just kept coming and coming and coming.....

now back to thread topic, I can not believe MG is so early this year either. We put up our decor today to get ready.Anyone going to New Orleans for the festivities?????

is early this year! Feb 5th! So that means an early Easter. Also this is a leap year. (can you tell I'm bored and its too cold to go outside and play?)Technically the Mardi Gras season starts on the 12th night after Christmas, the first day of the religious season of Epiphany. The date for Easter is computed via various algorithms, such as Oudin's. Then Ash Wednesday is 46 days before Easter, and Mardi Gras is the day before that, so that's how it's computed.
So the parades will be starting in just a few days or so?

Today was the first day of Carnival, the beginning of the Mardi Gras Parades. I'm going to wait another week to decorate though.Well, I'm ready for an early Mad Grass. I bought some great andouille from Cocoon's (better than what I get via mail order from Paul Prudhomme's "K-Paul's" restaurant at 1-800-4KPAULS). Can't find Camellia red beans at the Publix here any more
I not fond of early Mardi Gras. The cold can change the mood of it all. That and the fact that Superbowl Sunday is February 3rd....Doesn't look like I'm doing Mardi Gras in New Orleans this year. Perhaps Baytown Wharf? Anyone else going to be there?
Here's a link to the Parade Schedule if anyone is doing NOLA...

, but I will just substitute a generic brand of red beans. I have boatloads of beads and masks, and a white, a gold, and a black baby Jesus for the King Cake, so I'm good to go.Now which Is the best way if I'm coming from the east?
