I want to use some video clips from the internet (YouTube) in my class. My office has an internet connection, but the actual classroom does not.
Is there a way to get stuff off the internet and put it on a DVD that I can play on a DVD player/TV? Or am I SOL? I need to know ASAP.

I tried it Nohall for my Grandfathers 100th birthday since their was a video of the town he was born in on youtube. I couldn't do it. I think they did allow it at one point, then eliminated it. I did find a site that told one how to get around it, but frankly it was above my head and required downloading another program. We e-mailed the poster of the video and he sent it to us via e-mail since it was a private individual.

Ah, well--worth a shot. I'll either just bring all of them into my office or get one of the kids to do it! (They always know how to do this stuff!)

There is a utility out there somewhere that will allow you to save it. The problem with YouTube clips and the like is that they have been converted to Flash media. Here are a couple sites you can use...
http://vconvert.net/
http://myvideodownloader.com/tryitnow.html (this one will give you ten freebies)
This is interesting...
YouTube - Save Youtube Vids into editable AVI files or add to iPod mp4
It's a tutorial that shows you how to do it on YouTube
You should be able to find something out there.
BTW...all I did was google "how do I save and convert youtube videos"...
Have fun!

It's a little discombobulating with all the jerkiness. I guess I should have said to take a Dramamine before watching it!

NoHall, I've been using Google Video, rather than youtube.com, for uploading video. I am given the option of making the video available for downloading by the public. I believe they offer it for download only to Video IPod or Sony PSP. See example of video below. Download button is to the right of the screen if viewing from the Google site (probably won't show on this link)

Google button takes you to the google video and then you can download. It's odd that it's only available on google since they bought out youtube?
