If I had high speed internet, I'd hook you up with some cold looking photos. Thermometer on my porch reads 39F degrees at the moment, but it's cold. I might have to replace my shorts with pants and put on some socks before the day is over. It's effing cold out there.

There are those of us locals that just have a hard time giving into pants...I know I am one of them...but it is butt ass cold! I can remember when it snowed here in March (Spring Break 90 I think)...crazy! What's up with that? :idontno: And now socks...Joe I just can't do it! Barefooted under the covers maybe...but no socks on these feet...

I'm keeping my eyes open for snow up here in Sunny Hills. Its almost too cold though. The past couple of days I just can't seem to get warm enough. I'm one to always have a fan on, and now I'm in a sweat shirt, and if I'm on the couch I've got a blanket around my shoulders. Yes the heat is on. I just can't seem to get warm. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just returned home. Didn't give in to the socks, but I did put on some pants. Franny, my mom was always yelling at me as a kid to wear my coat, wear my gloves, wear my hat -- It's just what mamas do. I can get the coat and hat part, and tonight, my hands were so cold when I was outside, that I was wishing that I had worn my gloves, but never once did I think about missing my socks.

You and SavvyT have that in common. I get cold just looking at her feet.

I seriously have no idea why I even have a sock drawer. I think one or two pair would be plenty, but for some reason, I have a drawer full.

Send them to me. I can't stand having cold toes! I know that you're s'posed to keep your core warm, but if my toes are cold I never really feel warm.

I have one big ol' sock drawer. My toes will have to dig deep for the courage to leave the warmth of my down comforter THIS morning.

I agree NoHall, I would rather have shorts on with big ol' socks and boots, then go without socks! If my feet are cold, I am an unhappy person!

There's no denying that -18 is cold, but the REAL arctic cold spells don't usually last more than a week. We can handle that because spring is around the corner. I could never be a snowbird because I enjoy the change of seasons, even this one! A day like today calls for luxurylink and hot chocolate.

My husband looked out the window this morning and said, " it doesn't look like -18, more like -15." Ever the optimist. ;-)

I could handle being at the beach today....... Instead, since there's no wind, I'm going to bundle up, go for my 3 or 4 miles, pass the ice houses on the lake, and enjoy not being trapped in my house. I guarantee there WILL be people fishing today. We're very hearty people in the northland, definitely NOT wusses! :D

Hey, Tootsie. Got pics from our walk. It was pretty nice out but I still had some big icicles on my lashes by the time I got home. (I love that!) Anyway, to answer your snow ?, we have only had about a foot all winter, some of which melted in the Jan. thaw earlier this month.

Why, that's just the ND version of Inlet Beach! (Not)

The little houses are where manly men (and some manly women) watch football, drink beer and fish, esp. on Sat. and Sun.
