PC or Laptop

I've often wondered this too, BB. I have only a PC. Wish I had a laptop. I'm upstairs in the computer/craft/junk/office room. I figure eventually, this room will be the reason mr. dd leaves me.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.............First it's questions like "What kind of computer are you typing on." Then it's "What are you wearing." Then it's.....well, you all know the drill <Wait a minute--am I typing this out loud? :shock:>

Ok, try to picture this ...

I'm sitting at my desk, which is in the master bedroom.
There's a king size bed, three desks, 3 desktop computers and 5 monitors.
What a romantic bedroom huh?

If it wasn't for the need to eat and workout, I could spend 24 hours a day in this room.

I have 3 puters in my house. 2 desk top and 1 laptop. use the lap top mainly. If I didn't have the lap top, I would have a much lower post count.
The lap top I keep in my kitchen, you know that extra room you have in your house BB.

I use either my desktop or laptop (both are PCs, BTW), or my Blackberry. As for where, the office, the library, local restaurants/hangouts, my house, bed, sofa, desk, dock, porch, etc.

BB doesn't have a kitchen in her home. Its a large, well equipped wet bar.:funn:

I used to have a desk top dinosaur till it got hit by lightning. Now it is on the floor under the desk, till I get around to taking it to the Puter geeks to see if it is salvageable.

I bought the laptop so I could watch movies on the plane on a big screen. However now its my primary. I'm currently sitting at my desk. In a few minutes I'll be on my back on the couch with this on my lap, and will leave it there till my thighs catch on fire.

What am I wearing? Well, I just got home from work, jeans, tshirt, still have my jacket on, but one shoe is already on the floor.

Ok, there goes the other shoe. And both socks.
Now comes the jeans and jacket. (can I get some music here?)

OK, so now I'm on the couch, a couple big pillows behind my head, my blanket around my legs, another pillow on my lap to keep my thighs from getting burned from the computer, not that it works cuz this baby burns right through the pillow.

I've got all 3 remote controls to the tv on the ottoman next to the couch. In the background I am watching "Life after People" on the History Channel.

I have already fallen asleep. Just woke up 20 minutes after I started this post,....OK, how is that visual coming.....

laptop, usually on the sofa watching television, the dining room table when i'm trying to cook and sowal like OL, or downstairs with the dogs. however the wireless internet isn't working so i'm in the boring junk room.

Use a laptop sitting on the couch, cat curled up next to me with the remote. Currently Golden Girls is on. DKA it's the episode when they printed the fake Birthday announcement for Blanch and they way over quoted her age. As to what I'm wearing? Well... it's a simple number, lots of pink and lace, big pink fluffy slippers on the floor (the nail polish has to dry), and the curlers are just about done, gotta run.

At work I use a POS terminal that won't let me click on the smilies (I had to print out the full list and manually type them in), I can't multi quote, and I can't embed anything either.

It's not that I need a bed in the office, or a computer in the bedroom. There's just no other space in the house. The office was supposed to be in one of the other bedrooms, but there just wasn't enough room. And now we have another kid on the way that will need that bedroom.

I have a laptop. I used to use it in the computer armoire where the old pc was until my daughter made wisecracks about how we were wireless and that meant I could use it anywhere. I moved it 4ft away to the kitchen island...I like my kitchen! I tried it on the sofa, on the kitchen table, in the study and on my bed...I prefer the kitchen island.
It's never been to Starbucks.
I have a blackberry...not the big one. I haven't figured out how to go SoWallin on it but I think it is capable..I'm not so sure that would be a good thing....I would take that to Starbucks...I like to travel light.

Oh, I forgot to mention....when people are here and I am on and laughing....I get a lot of strange looks.....Does this happen to anyone else.

i am off and on my little bitty laptop all day long, it sits on the arm of my chair. in the evening i sit here with my laptop on, and mr audie sits in his chair with his laptop on and most times we don't even talk. it's wonderful. his laptop was the best thing i ever bought.

sometimes when our wireless crap goes down i have to use the desktop in the spare junk room - i mean bedroom. and i can sowal on my treo if i get really desperate.

MacBook in the kitchen (a.k.a. the large entry hall in my house with the fridge and sink!) at the kitchen table, which is too tiny for eating, which is fine with me, two steps from the living room. If I want to relax, I take the laptop to the couch.

Does anyone take the laptop in that other special room that has the special chair, tub, sink, etc? (Not that I ever would...)

Before I got the laptop, my favorite room was my office, and I still go there if I have to print stuff on the PC.

Me, laptop, we travel all over the house. This morning we're at the dining room table surrounded, I must admit, but some leftover, dried-out, stuck-on pasta that didn't get cleaned up last night. Oh, and report cards waiting for signatures.

I have a PC at my desk at work and we have a PC in the office/spare bedroom. I also have a lap top but only use that when I am travelling.

I'm at work, cozy lamp on my desk, lots of family pictures on the credenza behind me. I have "fancy" preschool art work from the children of my friends scattered back there too. Nice and homey, except for the piles of paper and spreadsheets that need my attention.

My office has nice big windows so that I can look down upon the lovely parking lot and monitor the weather while Sowalling/working. But I'd rather be at home in front of the fireplace with a laptop.

but am i the only one who can't stand starbucks coffee?

PC at work, laptop at home with wifi.

And BTW, Starbucks is habit forming. There are better coffees, but they are kind of like McDonalds:everywhere and consistent.
