Anyone have it? If so, what do you think? The thing I'm most excited about? 3 receivers with one including a DVR that can record 4 programs at once. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U-verse

I see where it isn't really available in the South but Texas has it along with several midwest states.

Well, I guess I'll be the first.;-) Installation next Thursday, Valentine's Day!!! Ahhhh! I never thought about this affecting my internet...I'll open my Valentine and post before noon. They are supposed to come between noon and 2:00. it could take anywhere from 5-8 hours.:blink:

What do you currently have?

I'll have to ask Mr. JR what he thinks about this AT&T. We use digital Comcast for everything but I know the AT&T people are constantly trying to get us to switch. Some of our neighbors did switch and now wish they hadn't. But I don't know why.

I'm anxious to hear how it goes for you then maybe we'll consider switching. What are the monthly costs, if you don't mind saying?




(OL, is OH supposed to get snow tomorrow? We're forcasted for 6 - 10" overnight. I just heard that Milwaukee is supposed to get 20"!!! THAT would be considered a monster storm in my book. :yikes:)

It's still warm here until Thursday then just snow showers. I told Mr OL I would like a foot of snow about now...:biggrin:...we just got a LOT of rain. It's very soggy here.

I hope I don't regret it but we're going to try it. There's no contract or anything so I'm not canceling my cable yet. Right now we pay $107 for highspeed internet cable and digital cable tv w/out HD. We just got a new HD tv so this is kind of why we want to switch too. Our bill would go up to $117 adding HD. And that is only one reciever. I'm also getting a $100 rebate and there's no installation charges.

The new U-verse will be $89 total for everything (high speed internet "pro" speed) and we get 2 additional receivers, HD and the DVR can record 4 shows at once. ( the biggest seller for me:biggrin:Thursday nights are getting complicated)
I hope it does what they say it does. I'll let you know..

It sounds good. We'll wait and see. We've had lots of problems lately with Comcast/internet connections & their customer service. We pay $140/mo. and no HD & basic cable, but with DVR.

Grrr. I just lost a really long post reviewing the new U-verse. Let's just say the pluses outway the minuses by far. Installation did take 4 hours and 15 minutes. They estimated 5-8 hours. It looked like an At&T emergency outside of our house! 4 trucks lined up and 6 people working. They were friendly and did a great job.
The channels and remote will take a little getting used to. There has been a dramatic change in the picture quality on our non HD tv's for the better. If anyone is considering this, I would recommend it.
