So what did everyone do for Valentine's Day?
Me and Mr. SWGB went to Wal-Mart for brake fluid followed by a lovely dinner at Hooters.

Sounds fabulous. RR and I did lunch in DFunk and went home to enjoy a romantic evening repainting our living room.

I spent a lovely evening at work. My funn comes tomorrow for Single Awareness Day.
By the way, I wasn't being facetious about my evening at wokr being "lovely." I really enjoy my job.

? Hope that you don't have too much more family funn there. It's kind of expensive.

Every day is singles awareness day for me, but what is this event you speak of?
I had a really lovely day at work, too! I've been taking it easy on my kids this week because I'm too tired to beat them into submission. Some of them have responded well to "independent study" time, and yesterday was very cool with them.
Then my drama class went with me to the preview show last night. It was a lot of funn to have them there. On top of that, the show went really, really well, even after someone threw up in the second act. (No, I'm not kidding about that, no, the show didn't make the kid throw up, and, no, I'm also not kidding about how well it went after it got cleaned up and we restarted.)
Probably the best VD I've had in a long time. Even better--we only have a half day today. I get a nap before opening night. *sigh* Life is good...

I thought Valentines day WAS Singles Awareness Day, as most of us that are single become quite aware of it ourselves.
Valentines day was quite amusing. There was a lot of Petal envy going on. I work in a tiny little office of about 1300. For security reasons, all deliveries have to be left with the security team in the front lobby.
The front lobby looked like a florist or a funeral home, still not sure. Anywho, each receipient of bouquets had to be called up to the lobby to pick up their own flowers to take them back to their desks, passing back through security. Through out the day our small office (about the size of 4 football fields) was awash in a sea of red, pink and white petals.
I had to chuckle as a young girl walked in all proud with a dozen rozes in a simple arrangement and set them on her desk. Then the girl next to her came back with a 2 1/2 dozen very elaborate spray, bigger than she was, almost. The first girl was quite crestfallen. Petal envy.
I had a job interview for what would be a big promotion and was quite on edge till it came at 4:00. Lasted an hour, and I think, no, I know it went very well. I bought myself a box of chocolates and a bottle of red wine on the way home. Had a dinner, a glass of wine, fell asleep on the couch and never did open the chocolates.
Now I'm up an hour before my alarm is to go off. Can't wait to get to work!

Ms Seaside made a small dinner of pasta with chopped fresh tomatoes, garlic, shrimp and topped with Parmasan cheese. Girl Scout cookies for dessert.
Then I painted the guest bathroom, fell asleep at 10. Ms Seaside read one of her gruesome bloody murder mysteries until late.
Lil Seaside was at a community center doing a Valentines thingie for the kids until 9 or so.
Maybe next year!

ChefEd gave me a beautiful antique art deco engagement ring yesterday morning (we've been engaged for a while, he was just sealing the deal). I worked my butt off all day, did a power walk up 30A, caught this sore throat/headache bug that this is going around and went to bed! We be so romantical.

I've been in that lobby, bet it was a scene. Did the grumpy guards get any flowers?

Good luck!
We just put the boys to bed early and grilled greenwise ribeyes chased with sterling cab.

I can imagine, you should have worn your tiara and pretended like you were Queen of the Rosa Parade. No signs leading up to the building? Someone did that once and the girl was so unimpressed she dumped the guy on V-Day. My response: What a byatch.

As I've said before... the best part about it is we get our candy half-price.

I cooked some fresh Grouper for little IBD and I while Mr. IBD had a battle with some outdoor flood lights. He kept coming inside and telling me that he loved me, (very sacastically) and then I would to the same....and bat my eyes.

Neither Mr. IBD or I care for Valentines day as we believe that couples should act like this all year round, not just on a commerical day. SOrry nothing exciting here folks....

Toots I love your 'tar! Now that Valentine's Day is over I should probably change out my Happy New Year 'tar.
My Valentine's Day consisted mostly of pulling Katiefunn off the top of the kitchen table. Hubby was gone five days and did not get back until midnight. We will party Saturday night.

The little Lady and I had Alaskan King Crab Legs, a nice bottle of white wine and her choice of a movie at home. Nice and quiet.

Same feeling here, hence the brake fluid and Hooters.

Fabulous 4 course dinner and lots of champagne at Vintij.
And a Valentine's day "gift" of a Sam's Club cannister of cayenne pepper (to rid my yard of feral cats) wrapped in tissue paper and in a mini Victoria's Secret bag!

Mr. Mouse picked up dinner on the way home from work, and we watched Father of the Bride, love, love that movie.
He tolerates it for me and is probably thinking since we have a 20 something year old daughter that one day that will be him.
And he thought college was expensive, because mine wants the full blown Disney wedding.
