DD, you and Philippa are on the same cosmic wavelength. She's home for the weekend and before going out tonight she yelled for me come to the window, quick, because the sky was really beautiful. Voila! DD in Texas snaps the shot that Philippa was talking about. Thanks DD for the perfect techicolor moment!

Yes thanks. It's beautiful. The weather here has been less than stellar lately and haven't seen any pretty sunsets lately.

My pleasure ladies. The pic doesn't really do it justice, and my amateur photography skills are lacking, but after a day of pouring rain and cold, it was a nice little moment. Sun's out today--still cold though. I need some spring!

Here here. Friday I was shopping for groceries for MANgo's b-day party and they had bouquets of tulips everywhere from after Valentines day. Well, buried in the corner were sale $1 tulip bouquets that looked every bit as good as the ones not on sale, so I loaded my cart up with 5 huge bouquets. It looks like Holland in my house. :D

I love tulips. To me, they're such happy little flowers. I didn't plant any this year. (Mermy, the gardener in me is getting real lazy these days). Wish I had now. They'd be up and blooming soon. Dammit.

Love glads too. They are so tall and dramatic. My faves are red followed closely by white. I know what your fave is Toots.

I know what you mean. Last year I got really lazy myself and didn't plant half enough flowers. But this year I will, because Merman gave me the most gorgeous little bud vase of Murano glass for VD. I have to fulfill my end of the bargain by planting some flowers to go in it!

Toots, there's nothing to planting glad bulbs. As you can see--

Give it a go. They're among the cheaper bulbs to buy so if for some strange reason you don't have any sucess (unlikely) you haven't bust your wallet.

My yard needs a major overhaul. I've got a rosemary that's taken over the whole front bed. And some kind of daisy or chysanthimum that blooms REALLY late in the fall that has a wonderful frangrance in the leaves. I've divided it several times and it gets huge. This plant may be the other reason mr. dd divorces me. He hates it because there's one by the driveway and it spills out over the edge of the driveway. Guess I need to move it again. I've got clematis that's volunteered everywhere. So yes, I do have a jungle out there.

Aw, DD, all you need to do out there is some ruthless "editing." That's the pretty little euphemism that my friend who is a great gardener calls yanking the plants who don't know to control their reproductive assets.
