So I am going to go trade my car in somtime this month I have been eyeing the Nissan 350Z and the Land Rover LR3--but this is a bit pricey considering I am about to go back to school (I currently have a Discovery and I absolutely love Land Rover and think that they are awesome vehicles). I test drove a 350Z a while back...loved it. If I go with the 350Z, I have been so indecisive over the color, black or grey? Do any of you or your friends drive a 350Z what do you/they think about it?

Ask RiverOtter about his G car, by Infinity. He says that if he moves to the beach, he may opt for something else, and definitely not black on black.

Wow- what 2 totally different choices! Would you miss the space to haul stuff around if you went with the little car?

Yup, I drove the 350 and the G35 Coupe before I bought the G. Here's my take. The 350 is a bit faster. It's lighter and you really feel it when driving. Switch off the traction control and you really feel how light it is. The 350 only comes in a 2 seat version. The 350 Roadster holds it's value better than any other convertible on the road (within reason.... I'm not comparing to Porshes, Astins, etc...).
Here is why I bought the G Coupe... It's almost as fast, rides better, handles almost as good, better looking in a hardtop (JMHO), MUCH nicer inside, it is a 4 seater with a big back seat (go look at one you will be very surprised) and Infiniti's service is second to none. I drop the car off for an oil change and they have a G35 Sedan waiting as my loaner. We have 2 kids and when the Burb is in the shop the 4 of us still need a car. Drove it to Nashville and no complaints from the little Otters in the back.
If I didn't have kids or a need to drive them around as often as I do I would have bought the 350 Roadster.
I have 34,000 on my Coupe and love it. Thinking of trading it in for another coupe. They have a 6 speed with Navigation on the lot right now 😀 . Mine is a 6 speed but no Nav.

I have pics of a LR3 buried in sand over the hubcaps at Grayton Beach. We called the Louisville Landrover dealer, who is a friend, from the scene and laughed our butts off, then took pics to show him when we got home! I know, we are easily amused. But I'm not dissing Landrovers- I have a VERY old RR and it's the best.
RO- it appears the Burbs do much better in sand!

My first time to Grayton (with the Burb) I passed a Mercedes ML450 (Sand up to it's axles), a BMW X5 (sand up to it's axles), and a Range Rover Discovery (Sand up to it's axles). For the RR I do think it was driver error :funn: . Those things will go anywhere.

Cheaper insurance with 4 seats v2 seats.

If you want the engine of the Z (basically) and still the accomodations of a mid-size SUV (Lexus 330/Mercedes 350/etc) check out the Infiniti FX35. I have the Sport package - 20" wheels and 265 tires - and it drives "almost" like a sports car. I can take pleasure in smoking non-turbo Porsche Cayennes :funn: Mine is a 2004 which has a rather pedestrian interior; the 2006's look much more Lexus-like on the inside.
As the Otter said, Infiniti service is great. No complaints at all. I recommend this brand.

Almost bought the FX cause it took 4 mos to get a triple black 6 speed coupe. Loved the way the FX drove. I wouldn't let myself drive the V8 thought. New I'd be "rurnt" :funn:
