Just a little update. I know some of you know my news, but thought I would share with the rest of the clan. After 21 years (yes, I started young

) as a contractor with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, I have been offered and accepted a job with Northrop Grumman. :clap:

It is a very big deal for me. My last day at the Corps will be March 7th, and I start with NG, on the 10th. I am nervous but excited as well. I will be working in their Multi Media Design section and am so glad to be able to get my creative juices flowing again. I got a good raise, and the best part after driving 20+ miles both ways, for the last 14 1/2 years, my new job is only 9 miles from my house. YEAH!!!!! And, I will not be a contractor anymore, so I don't have to worry every few years if I will have a job or not. I feel blessed today. One of the stipulations for me accepting the job was whether or not I would be able to take my weeks leave in July to go to Seagrove. They said it would not be a problem at all. YEAH! So I will see some of you in July. The weekends will be spent with me catching up on SoWal. I am going to be so busy learning and getting used to my new job that SoWal at work will be out of the question. However, you are all never to far from my thoughts. I hope life is treating the rest of you well. I will keep you posted. :wave:

When I read the email last week I was overjoyed for you. How wonderful. :clap:

Many people shy away from making changes mid career but sometimes that change is certainly worth it! I am so glad yours will be.

I was a little nervous, I mean, I ain't no spring chicken. However, I figured if I was gonna do it it better be now, and yes it is worth it. :cool:

goodness, I've been meaning to catch up with you and find out when you were making this exciting move? the shorter drive alone is worth the change!!! but the jobs sounds really funn and challenging.

I'm sure you'll need to take little sowal breaks every now and then. forget about the potty and lunch, etc. come and send us a joke and an update.

Oh, I will catch up, I can't stay away too long. It is going to be a challenge for awhile, but I will settle in and be just fine. I hope. :shock:

I'm so happy for you KDW! I'm sure you will be an asset to your new employer. Change...........can be good and refreshing, plus it makes life more interesting.
