Good, somebody told me today about the days when 30A Nick's used to throw them. Maybe this is a tradition that needs a rebirth.

Where is JoHo.....she might be able to clarify the GOBB as GBO..,Grayton Beach Open. Men's golf tourney and very large and long party...every year in October I think. I bartended for that one night.....honey...it is a partae!!!!! Not for the light of heart.

sounds kind of like the "Gin Fest" in Telluride. Never announced, and the location moved every year. $12 for all the Tanqueray one could handle. Hosted by the mayor(head bartender) with wacky live auction items(velvet elvis, hot air balloon, etc), had to cease for obvious reasons.

No need for secrecy. I was told it was a 'Got Our Beach Back' bash Nick's hosted after Labor Day...a farewell to the crowds and a return of some peace and quiet.

Skunky - it's going to be a loooooong summer if you are already planning a farewell party. . . .Spring Break hasn't even started yet!

Skunky - it's going to be a loooooong summer if you are already planning a farewell party. . . .Spring Break hasn't even started yet!

There are a few spring breakers already here, believe it or not. One had a purulent tonsillitis and another a UTI...

Do it Skunky! I remember one spring break some friends had to take their friend in because he was got so drunk he dropped his bottle of peppermint schnapps on the sidewalk and broke it...he decided to lick it off the sidewalk! :roll:

of course - gobb is old as me - we do it every year. we do it all winter long. we do it at midnight during the high season. we do it whenever we can!
the official party was always at nicks. with the real local yokals..

Or the BB&B party in Vail, CO every April at the end of ski season. Thousands of tourist-numbed locals would haul all the party makings up the mountain and play all day- snowball fights, sled jumps, ambushes of Ski Instructors- the last run down was always wild

That, too, was put to an end by Vail Resorts several years ago. I'd like a GOBB.
