Winter storm warning!

 I cannot believe it, we have had no snow all winter other than a little light snow Tuesday that didn't amount to anything but the flakes ended up big and were pretty. Now we are under a winter storm warning starting around noon tomorrow ending at around midnight. We could see 3-5 inches of snow and it March. I cannot tell you when the last time was we had a snow in March. It was not that bad when I left work, a little cool but not cold. The temps had dropped to 38 around 5:00 p.m., now it is 35.

We are expecting periods of heavy rain overnight, and then a rain/snow mix in the morning changing over to all snow around noon. What a shocker. And I have to be at work at 8:00 in the morning. And the worst of it will be starting while I am at work. I hope our boss lets us head home if it starts getting bad. People here don't know how to drive in snow and we get more ice than snow. That system is in Arkansas right now.

I know Texas got snow as I have two cousins and a aunt in Texas and it was snowing in Fort Worth. DD and Miss Kitty, have you two seen any snow today? I have to make sure I get some pictures. Sounds like a good time also for a snowball fight if it does materialize. They are acting like we definitely are going to get it. Boy have we had weird weather this winter.

3-5" in Nashville predicted. According to the radar it should start in about an hour. This sux. Last Sunday it was 75 degrees and I was on the lake all day and 5 days later its snowing. I'm ready for summer.

It's already getting pretty bad here. The roads are very slippery. Cars are sliding all over the place. Schools are releasing early and activities are canceled for the weekend. It's not supposed to stop snowing until tomorrow at 4. I'm looking outside right now and it's just pouring snow. Funn, funn, funn.

Haha! I'm hoping to get on the road to Birmingham before all the bad weather starts.

I don't like driving in bad weather but then again who does? :idontno:

The little bit of snow we had here started around 11:45 and stopped an hour later. It never got heavy. Started very fine and then increased a little bit in intensity and size and now has stopped. Nothing on the ground or roads. Cars are a little wet and the parking lot like it was rain. They initially said it would start out as rain so there may have been some rain in there also.

Whiteyfunn, my son lives in Clarksville, he said it started coming down there around 10:00 a.m. and they were saying it would start there later this afternoon. It has already covered everything there.

Our UPS driver told us that they are saying around 3:00 p.m. now for our heaviest part of the precip. Now I am beginning to wonder if we are going to get anything. So many times when they predict a good bit we get little or nothing.

Look out the window, LadyD!!!!

I just have seaside2, it is sleeting with some snow mixed in. News Channel 3 this morning said that this was not going to be an ice and snow event, just snow, well, wrong, that was probably sleet earlier also with the snow.

It is snowing here now. Started around 1:55 with sleet, when I got home around 2:10 the roof tops here in my neighborhood were white and it was starting to cover the ground. The ground is almost covered totally now with snow and it is coming down hard. I love it.

Well the winter storm warning has been canceled! We now have a BLIZZARD warning!!!!:yikes:

Pics for BB... the pics are dark since I was taking them from inside and using Sam's camera. A friend borrowed mine.

Mr OL is thankfully off work tonight. he's been shoveling every couple of hours to stay on top of it. We don't have all that much snow yet but the wind is blowing fierce and it's starting to get colder. Like I said before, the roads are really bad. Many businesses are closing early too.

So glad I went to the store...tacos for dinner tonight.

My little weather alert.

THIS STORM WILL HIT AS A ONE TWO PUNCH AND THERE MAY BE A BRIEF LULL IN THE SNOW INTENSITY ACTIVITY THIS EVENING...BEFORE PICKING UP IN INTENSITY AGAIN OVERNIGHT WHEN THE SECOND PUNCH HITS. BEFORE THE STORM DIMINISHES SATURDAY AFTERNOON YOU CAN EXPECT 10 TO 15 INCHES OF ACCUMULATION. DO NOT TRAVEL UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. CONDITIONS CAN DETERIORATE RAPIDLY IN BLIZZARD CONDITIONS.

Please do not send it this way! We are only expecting 1-3 which I can deal with but you can't avoid shoveling with 10-15 inches. Stay safe & warm!

Minnie, have you measured the snow at your house. I went out and measured in the deepest part of our front walk which is totally level and we have four inches. They said we could get 1 to 2 more inches before it tapers off. And the tapering off will be between 9 and 12. I love it.
