Yesterday I went to the Walton County office of Elections to change my party affiliation from Independent to Democrat so I could participate in the re-do in whatever form it takes place. So if anyone wishes to participate, now is your chance.

PUNZY take note. Canvass and cajole as many people as you can to register as dems so they can vote for OBAMA !!!

I wonder if they have a system in place to prevent republicans who already voted from casting ballots in the ef-up election. I can see many of them voting for Hillary.

The Walton County Govt Center on 331 just north of Rt 98 near the South Walton HS. Go into the building to the Office of elections and either register to vote, if you aren't already registered, or If you are registered to vote, you can declare your party affiliation to democrat from whaterver your party affiliation is ( Republican, Conservative, or Independent ) so you can participate in the primary. You can switch party affiliation whenever you want.

so, if you were republican and voted in the primary, then you can vote in the re-do for a democrat too? something sounds fishy to me.

goofer - what is your intention? just curious. why change your affiliation?

I would imagine a republican can change his party affiliation to democrat to vote in the primary re-do. But I don't know this as a fact. You will have to check at the election office. I wanted to vote in the Dem primary January 29 but couldn't because I was a registered Independent, now I have a second chance.
My intension is to vote for Obama because I LOATH the Clintons. The Clintons are trying to steal the nomination from Obama by dirty and disgusting politricks. At this point I am a McCain supporter but I think the Clintons are Satan's messengers :floor: and they must be vanquished once and for all !!!! I could be convinced in the general election to vote for Obama but at this point my heart and mind belong to McCain. Hillary and Bill are hippocrates of the highest order ala Spitzer. They are incredibly dishonest and arrogant. It is all about power and revenge for them. Obama is a true idealist and I think his intensions are honorable. He has taken the high road. Shouldn't the good guys win once in awhile ???

Why would you fact check this at an elections office, when we have our very own Walton GOP on this board..Oh Walton? Where are you?

How many times are Democrats going to get to vote this year before they let the votes count?

Currently the books close thirty days before the election. If the Democrats declare an open do over the plan is for all active Republicans to switch to Democrat, vote for Hillary, then switch back. It is just a series of post cards that have to be signed. This, basically, is why we had Crist suggest the redo. If this works, the whole State will be Democrat for thirty days and then this charade will be over.

The only problem right now, is if we do this, will they actually allow those votes to count?

Karl Rove is an absolute genius. The only thing that would have made this better would have been if any of the architect's of the plan were smoking. As it was, we just lit a bunch of incense to get the effect.

That is what I don't like about the process!

I am registering Democrat tomorrow because I want to choose which Democratic candidate I want on the ballot - so that I can vote FOR that person in November if I feel they are the best candidate.

This Republican plan is a great idea until it blows up in their face and we get Hilary as pres!

Fast forward several months and thanks to these tactics, a health issue or car accident is all that stands between that devil woman and the Oval Office! :yikes:

I am now a registered Democrat (just in case, I want to be able to say I did everything I could to keep Hillary out of office)!

It takes less than 5 minutes.

Welcome to the club. I switched before primary #1 simply so I could vote against 'she who must be defeated' twice.

All of you are going to have a chance to vote against her in November. Hate to see you go to all the trouble for nothing.

SoWal has played a big part in helping me figure out who the best candidate will be. Hill got the first shot, I voted for her on round one--a lot happened since then to make me re-think another Clintonian age, so Barack gets my vote this second go round...and uh, thanks to all you Board Barakis.

As I told Punzy, my SC vote (open primary) was as easy as ABC, Anybody But Clinton. She told me you felt similarly.
